Good evening, Alamo and ladies:
I thought I'd try something fancy-schmancy and Victorian
A Gentleman Cat Calling On A Lady At Her Home
Sir Percival, The Bane Of All Vermin
Stroked the collar of his coat made of plush ermine
While riding in an open Hansom Carriage
Contemplating thoughts of Courtship and Marriage
As he set his Top Hat upon wide and handsome ears
The Carriage stopped before a grand ruddy bricked Manse
That easily took up more than half of the street's expanse
As Percival slipped down and checked his spats with a glance
Stepped through the gate and twisted the bell
Followed by his Footmen, Oliver and Cromwell
The young woman in lamplight made Percival's heart swell
A creature so alluring, she sent Percival's blood stirring
For he had never seen such a lovely and graceful Femme
From bodice to the airily laced frill of her skirt's hem
Lithe as a lush as a white rose above a dewy stem
Percival stammered as he introduced himself
Bowed over the proffered slim and snowy paw
As an Angel whispered, "I'm Lady Felicity of The Thames"
While Oliver and Cromwell presented gifts
Of thick dark Treacle, tea and cups made of the finest delft
Mythic Romances have been built on less clumsy foundations
Percival and Felicity are still in love through four generations
Siring litters noted for their bravery and guile
Protecting the cargoes of ships from Port To Station
From the East End to India and the faraway Spice Isles
