This is U.S. Appeals Court Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, a Clinton appointee who gave a glowing endorsement of her colleague, Sam Alito, earlier today, along with six other judges from the appeals court who appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee to support Alito.
Chuck Schumer walked out before the judges started to speak.
Teddy Kennedy showed up late, stayed for 10 minutes, then left.
Pat Leahy put on a dour face for a short time, and also bailed...
if Judge Barry were a screeching liberal moaning about Alito's threat to the female populace, the Dems would have been all ears--and Judge Barry would have been all over the evening news tonight.
But she wasn't...

Yes!!!!
Fox played portions of Judge Barry's testimony, and I have to tell you, I'd hate to be the lawyer who's trying to do the smoke-and-mirrors thing in front of her. She's one tough - and sharp - lady.
Wow. She was very clear spoken and eloquent.
Ping
I'll do that. Thank you.

Please FReepmail me if you would like to be added to, or removed from, the Michelle Malkin ping list...
More reason to keep the interviews to 2 days.
This is sort of a mirror image of the Swiftvets' situation with Kerry. Here the seven people most closely associated with Alito all testify to his superb qualifications and credentials to serve as a Supreme Court justice. In the Swiftvets' case the large majority of the people who were most closely associated with him in Vietnam all stated he was "unfit to serve." In each case the MSM is doing its best to ignore the testimony.
Interesting that the Pubs are able to present a panel with over 200 collective years of appellate judicial experience at the highest level, all vigourously supporting Judge Alito. The Dems can only respond with an associate professor of law (not even a full professor) from the nation's most liberal law school, Berkley. Game over, man.
LOL!
Excellent clip from Michelle Malkin. Regarding the behavior;
"Chuck Schumer walked out before the judges started to speak. Teddy Kennedy showed up late, stayed for 10 minutes, then left. Pat Leahy put on a dour face for a short time, and also bailed..."
Well, it just shows what a childish bunch they really are. They no longer need discipline, but punishment for their deliberate and consistent bad attitudes and behavior.
Just watched the video clip of Judge Barry. They best not mess with her... Judge Barry is one judge you don't wanna tick off. She'll knock 'em into the middle of next week before they realize what happened.
"Are you a Democrat? Democrats claim moral superiority by calling someone a "tasteless turd" - very classy. "
I want to know how de Buillion knows what a full-flavor turd tastes like, so as to be able to identify a "tasteless turd" in comparison...
The Libs were never interested in a civil hearing or discussion. They merely wanted to attack all things perceived to be conservative about Alito with no rebuttal.
This episode shows what childish, petty jerks they are when they don't get their way. I also hope against hope that the Senate Republicans can see what can be accomplished when they stick together and smack down the BS from the Democrats.
All of the DUmmie Senators left the room when she and other judges who actually have worked with Judge Alito were speaking.
There is no search for the truth, here.
"I want to know how de Buillion knows what a full-flavor turd tastes like, so as to be able to identify a "tasteless turd" in comparison..."
He tried McDonalds versus BurgerKing?
Oops! We are talking birds here, so Church's versus KFC?
I cannot BELIEVE they were so RUDE to walk out on these judges testimonies!! ARRG! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE! They must be the LEAST qualified people around. Ted Kennedy was asking for questions on his website. He can't think up his own questions? What exactly are these people paid to do?
The DUmmie Senators were usually reading questions prepared by "moveon" with no follow up questions. Just read the next written question.
"Alito shows an open mind, but will Senate Democrats?"
"One by one, the straw men set up by liberal special interest groups like People for the American Way and MoveOn.org have burned up quickly at the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito..."
"Alito has sworn that he will maintain an open mind on all issues that come before him at the high court...we can only hope the Senate Democrats will do the same when they vote on his nomination."
