Sorry, but if other Freepers saw this, please take the time to go to FOXSports.com and give them some feedback.
After the Steelers-Colts game, the post-game show included a filmed skit with a guy impersonating George W. Bush, standing in front of the POTUS seal, doing "dumb stuff" remarks about the NFL play-offs.
Afterward, JB said something like "OH, Howie won't like that" (indicating Howie may be a Bush supporter). Howie said he just didn't think it was appropriate to take shots at the President, not to mention that it was a FOOTBALL show.
This deserves a large roar-back.
Also, thanks, Howie, for standing up for decency. And to FOX, SHUT UP AND DO FOOTBALL!

If you think that is inappropriate conservative bashing on a sports show/website, take a look at this. I thought about posting it originally, but didn't think it was worth it.
Here is a bit from the article:
"Notre Dame could care less about how careless they were. They didn't care how this would make them look in the eyes of African-Americans, or any white liberals who fight for civil rights against actions such as this every day."

That being said, I love football, and I can deal with a little political humor on sports talk.
The part that caught my notice was how respectfully Howie referred to the President. It did give the impression he wasn't a Liberal. I was appreciative of the tone.
However, as far as skits go this one was pretty tame when you consider what the Democrats say about him in real time. And I know they were trying to make fun of the President, imo, they ended up mocking themselves which is why I suppose I found it a bit funny.
The president's team did win. The skit gave the President power to appoint the medicine needed to revive the Texans by selecting Bush. And, the guy ended up picking the team that would win. I mean, yeah, they are mocking his mannerisms and dialect but what was the sum? The sum was that one way or another the President ends up on the winning side either by actually winning (LongHorns), having good instincts to pick the winner (South carolina), or if there is a loss finding a way to rebound (Reggie Bush). All the while Liberals fixated on what is unimportant (speech and mannerisms).
I'll take it. :-)

You can do it. I've gone 37 years without football and don't feel like I'm missing a thing.
But then, I'm a native Houstonian . . . insert your own joke here.
Just a guess on my part but I imagine Fox saw it as an opportunity to highlight their MadTV product and wanted to use the playoffs as an oppportunity to promote the show which is targeted to same audience as football (young males). That isnt to say us old farts dont watch it as well. I doubt they put it on to piss off the conservatives or to appeal to the libs.
I can. Somehow all NFL games begin to look alike. College football is a lot more fun. No Super Bowl is ever going to be as good as the Texas-USC game.
Agreed. But, even so, don't do it on a football show. That's just dumb. It's another example of the MSM not caring what their customers want.
The skit actually was rather funny! The point was that I don't want to see it on a football show. Period. It could have been a skit lampooning Klintoon and I still wouldn't want to see it on a football show.
Hello. No one was mad at the fact fun was poked at Bush. It was the fact that one should be able to watch a football show without being subjected to the producers' idea of political commentary, either on the right or on the left.
Sports talk is a completely different animal than televized sports.
