Missing in Action:The Democrats
The American Thinker ^ | 1/15/06 | Clarice Feldman

Belmont Club describes the growing war between the Sunni insurgents and al Qaeda in Iraq and the coming showdown with Iran .The author,Wretchard, a keen observer, notes that much of the Democrat opposition to Operation Iraqi Freedom is because the now minority party views it all through a prism of Bush hatred.

So great is this hatred, he says, that it has left the Party without a foreign policy or defense plan as we near a very critical junction in Iraq and now Iran. A hatred which critics observe keeps the party from looking beyond its own nose to see the danger of this attitude which sees the war on terror as but ” a subset” on “the war against the GOP.”

Dems' hatred is preventing them from formulating a policy to deal with the real threat of a nuclear Iran.

Yeah and it looks like Iran is going to be the place to be this year. I think by 2007 that we will be at war with Iran if the course continues as it has.

The last paragraph of the article is a winner!

I cannot for the life of me imagine why the dems keep voting these people back into office. Can that many liberals support a party whose leaders bring in no ideas whatsoever except that whatever President Bush does is wrong?

I LOVE Clarice Feldman articles...and so does Rush...he reads them all of the time...unfortunately, he will be out all week...

I have had a hard time convincing myself that the dems ARE so selfish that they would put our country in deadly danger...just because of their hatred of Bush...

It seems they are...

The RATS should be simply known as the opposition party, since they oppose everything the administration has done.

Democrats support Abortion, but oppose the death peanilty. By there instrangance on Iran, North Korean and Clintons assistance to China with Lorell Missel Technology, the Democrats have created a world where our adversaries could deliver nuclear missiles onto the corn fields of the Midwest or more prudently hit the very cities and population centers where the kumbiya socialist Bush-Hating anti-American Democrat part lives - and will eventually die. Should a few cities be hit by our enemies of America, they should also consider that their bigggest allies, the city dwellers who would oppose American Interests will no longer be voting on their behalf by default; that those Blue States will turn Republican for two reasons - nukes kill cities and abortions kept them out of the surburbs. Maybe the Democrats actually believe that our enemies will not attack them (anti-American Americans allied with socialism, communism, etc.) in their cities - but then the Republicans are too spread out to be defeated with these weapons of mass destruction. Only their City-Dweller socialism could defeat America's Interest - health care like the EU, job security like the EU, etc. As long as American remains a FREE MARKET Economy, socialist will be incrementally paid from the proceeds thereof, and the world's dictators, socialists and UN voting block will be subjected to democracry - oftentimes at the point of a diplomatic sword or troops on the ground.

Iran will see several of her current allies dropped from the rolls in 2006-2007 (Lebanon, West Bank, Gaza, Saudi Arabia & the vast Iranina Population outside the cities....).

IIRC the Presidential debates, the last Democrat idea on how to deal with Iran was to give them the same deal that North Korea suckered us with.

Wikipedia, in its survey of American liberalism, notes that the Cold War was fought very much on a bipartisan basis

Explode this myth. After about 1968, most of the democrat party went into opposition to America in the Cold War. There were a few responsible holdouts like Scoop Jackson. But Reagan won the cold war over the screaming opposition of the bulk of the democrat party.

The rats don't care. They think they can simply waltz into November and get the majority of votes without a message, a plan, any ideas on issues, any leaders. And now they have Dick Morris (double agent) spouting how the country is now moving left.

They have NOTHING. With or without Morris.
