Mexican military aggressive entrance into U.S. territory
The washington Times ^ | January 17, 2006 | Jerry Seper

The U.S. Border Patrol has warned agents in Arizona of incursions into the United States by Mexican soldiers "trained to escape, evade and counterambush" if detected -- a scenario Mexico denied yesterday. The warning to Border Patrol agents in Tucson, Ariz., comes after increased sightings of what authorities described as heavily armed Mexican military units on the U.S. side of the border. The warning asks the agents to report the size, activity, location, time and equipment of any units observed. It also cautions agents to keep "a low profile," to use "cover and concealment" in approaching the Mexican units, to employ "shadows and camouflage" to conceal themselves and to "stay as quiet as possible." Border Patrol spokesman Salvador Zamora confirmed that a "military incursion" warning was given to Tucson agents, but said it was designed to inform them how to react to any sightings of military and foreign police in this country and how to properly document any incursion. Mr. Zamora added that although incursions by the Mexican military do occur, they usually have taken place in areas of the border "not marked by monuments or signs." He said U.S. military units also have crossed mistakenly into Mexico. But Rafael Laveaga, spokesman for the Mexican Embassy in Washington, denied that Mexican military personnel are crossing into the United States. "I strongly deny any incursions by the Mexican military as inaccurate allegations," Mr. Laveaga said. "The Mexican military is a well-respected institution with strict rules on how to control Northern Mexico. It maintains a protocol of not going within a mile of the border, and those who would trespass would be severely punished." Mr. Laveaga said some drug smugglers headed "both north and south" wear uniforms and drive military-type vehicles, and might have "confused" U.S. authorities.

"Maybe it's time to deploy a Delta Force Unit on the border and catch these guys red-handed. Then we can determine whether it is smugglers dressed up as Mexican army personnel or actual Mexican Army personell."

If it's active Mexican Army personell, I want the 4th ID rolling through Mexico City by the end of March. Either the Mexican government controls its troops, or we'll "control" their troops for them.

Been going on for some time now.

Incidents like this are why many are very hesitant to put N. Guard troops on the border. When we do that, there will be armed clashes and probably a war.

I do think some smugglers dress up in military type clothes, bit I also Know the Mexican Military has and continues to cross into the US.

I was at a remote port of entry one day when a Mexican tank pulled up on the Mexican side and aimed the turret at the US Port buildings. The US inspectors got on the phone for instructions but no one could really tell them what to do- they were actually told not to worry about it. The Mexican tank driver got out and had a good laugh about it, went into the Mexican port and shortly came out and left.

I thought the whole episode was a little wierd considering that there are incursions and ambushes along the border. I felt he was just thumbing his nose at US Officials. I was pretty ticked but all the US Officials acted as though nothing had happened.

Did you or any other FReepers see Lou Dobbs' program tonight (Tue.) on CNN in which he demonstrated that the Roman Catholic Church has clearly and decisively aligned itself with the "no borders", unlimited illegal alien immigration lobbies? According to the program this support is replete with the usual charges of racism, etc., against those who believe in border security. Has the R.C. Church sided with LaRaza? What's going on?

Apparently so. Dobbs has covered this more in the past few days and had a spokesperson on for the Roman Catholic Church who tacitly admitted they could care less about our borders or national security and would welcome the hordes of illegals. Dobbs said that ANY church that aids and encourages people to break American laws and engage in partisan politics should lose its tax exempt status. I agree.
