So, TN was not one of the Confederate States of America, then?
They did not seceed from the union and take up arms against the Union?

The saying was that Governor Isham Harris seceded and took Tennessee with him. Then the government of Tennessee took up arms against their own citizens who wished to remain loyal to the old Union flag of Washington and Jackson.

Whether Tennessee was blue or grey...don't we carry our "heritage" with us in our hearts? That seems to be the way of it for other shows of "heritage."
