I can tell you I turned off my Reuters machine 2 hours after the closing bell. Apple was trading in the 77 to 78 range. From Investor's Business Daily (which I also used to work for):

Apple's stock fell 3% to 82.49 in trading Wednesday, ahead of the earnings release. It tumbled another 4% in after-hours trading following the report.

" It tumbled another 4% in after-hours trading following the report."

Didn't "outperform" enough.

Yes it did, and if you look at AAPL History it the stock always fall on good news. Apple got picked on today for a delay in the pipeline for the intel machines. This stock has brought me happiness since 98.

"The Intel shift is hurting sales of existing inventory."

Yeah, that makes sense, and is as expected. Apple could reduce its old (obsolete) inventory, or remainder it out, but that could hurt sales of the new machines, and also lead people to expect cut-rate prices. Looks like Apple stock is not something to buy, but is probably a hold, eh, except for those who bought for the first time only recently, and need to try to sell now, or to buy more to dollar cost average. :')

Looks like $50 a share appreciation in a year, having nosed over in the past week.
