Go ahead and laugh, but this is pure genius on the part of bin laden.

No one is laughing. This was altogether predictable. When TROP is hit with force, this is part of their playbook. The important thing to remember is for the western countries (and especially the U.S.) not to blink and cave in. The answer is to redouble the effort.

Do you think that anyone at the State Department or the DOD will focus on that statement?

We must really be hurting them to have a truce offered. If you learn one thing from history, it is when an islamich jihadists offers a truce, he is either so hurt he can't attack or is planning to sucker punch you.In the muslim religion, there are no binding contracts with non muslims.

I hope so...

Hudna - that's the word I was referring to.

HUDNA - Arabic word often translated as "cease-fire.- Historically used as a tactic aimed at allowing the party declaring the hudna to regroup while tricking an enemy into lowering its guard. When the hudna expires, the party that declared it is stronger and the enemy weaker. The term comes from the story of the Muslim conquest of Mecca. Instead of a rapid victory, Muhammad made a ten-year treaty with the Kuraysh tribe. In 628 AD, after only two years of the ten-year treaty, Muhammad and his forces concluded that the Kuraysh were too weak to resist. The Muslims broke the treaty and took over all of Mecca without opposition.

You have made the best statement regarding this issue out of all I have read, this is just what the left has been waiting for and now they have it. I have a bad feeling in my stomach about this day, I will be following the MSM closely for the next few days. Very few words were said but this should be grabbing the whole worlds attention, take care.

Go ahead and laugh, but this is pure genius on the part of bin laden. ... You'll have the media and the left going nuts.

This is bad, very bad.

Hardly.

This is proof Osama's ego has gotten the best of him. He is insisting on viewing the west through media colored glasses. Our response to 911 should have disabused him of such foolishness.

He would rather ignore the steadily eroding credibility of our MSM, and fight his war like a soap opera.

"This is bad, very bad."

Baloney. I don't recall a single person in this country pushing for a "truce" with Al Queda. Not Kerry, not Murtha, not even Cindy Sheehan. There is no support in this country for a "truce" with terrorists. Maybe in France...but not here. Osama is grasping for time. His popularity is waning even in the Middle East. Nobody who is winning asks for a truce. This is not bad. It is irrelevent and will be ignored.

We have proven that we are willing to take casualties.

So much for Osama's "Black Hawk Down" wishes.

Truce?

How about unconditional surrender, and Osama, Zawahiri and Zarqawi all go in front of a firing squad..

Me thinks somebody is getting scared!

I think we should accept his offer of truce.

I think we should have Jack Bauer meet with him to broker it.

Sorry, I was laughing.

Only because I imagined Osama's face as the bomb fell and scorched his skirts and heard him yelling truce in a high pitched voice.

A truce? Bin Laden must be confusing the Bush Administration with what would have Kerry's. Hey, Bin Laden Kerry lost.
