"This report, in the end, demonstrates the need for public officials to tell the truth and perform honest services."

That verbage cost us about $10M.

What a joke.

It's being said it takes only one congressman to release the entire report?

So who is the "one" without corruption and/or is implicated? Let him come forth and show us the report..meanhile roll the cricket chirping audio loop.

Guess your analogy stands...sad reality

My email:
Dear Congressman Wicker
Please request and provide to me the UNredacted full version of the Final Report of the Independent Counsel in re: Henry G. Cisneros AKA the Barrett Report. It is outrageous that we taxpayers are prevented from seeing a report that we paid for.
Although, a three-judge panel consisting of Judges David Sentelle, Thomas Reavley and Peter Fay redacted the information and ruled that no one may see them, there is said to be an exception to their ruling. Any member of Congress may view the redactions by asking to do so and may then share the information with the American public. I request that you ask for this information and release it to me.

The same request will be sent to Senators Lott and Cochran.

The Barrett report
Jan 19, 2006 by Robert Novak

But will any senator or House member do it? Nobody is interested in further prosecution of Henry Cisneros, an exceptional public figure who might well have become the first Hispanic-American governor of Texas and perhaps even president of the United States. Rather, an unredacted Barrett report is an opportunity to observe how the Internal Revenue Service decides when to prosecute, a place where Congress until now has feared to venture.

"It's the Cisneros OIC report."

Yes, but it's often the Barrett Report, like the Starr Report.

I understand that, but a lot of people had no idea what this was. I was just throwing it in for those wondering 'why all the hullaballoo'?

Thanks.

I don't suppose they will put it out in book form like the 911 report.

All people sin. It's a human condition. The question is, among us sinners, who is most fit to lead? That is a perplexing question. But just as a boss needs to choose a worker out of the crowd, we need to choose someone to vote for. You, at least, are far more informed than most. Don't be scared of making a mistake. Just choose the best way you can. I'd rather you share with others why you make such a choice. But if that's too much hassle, fine. Just vote and pray that God guides you.

"Initially, the panel of three judges that oversees the lingering issues involving the independent counsel law agreed in October to the public release of Mr. Barrett's report but said the section with accusations about Clinton officials must be deleted.

But after Congressional Republicans attached a rider to a Department of Housing and Urban Development spending bill requiring publication of the full report, the judicial panel in November ordered a full disclosure."
