The fan accused of harassing the wife of New York Knicks forward Antonio Davis will drop threats of a lawsuit if the couple says it's sorry, the man's attorney said Friday.
No way, Davis said.
"I'm not apologizing to anybody for anything," Davis said on a conference call. "I don't think that my wife did anything wrong, I don't think that I did anything wrong."
...
Axelrod's [the Fan's] father, David, is a prominent Democratic political consultant in Chicago who has worked with Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.

What exactly does he do - knock her on her butt?
Because I see that as general attitude on this site--and even look no further than this thread--how many people have been bringing up that this guy (or, more accurately, his old man) is a Democrat. Does that have anything to do with who's right or wrong?
I may be wrong about this; there's obviously no way of knowing, but it's my suspicion.
Perhaps your suspicions should be focused on those individuals.
I don't care who his dad is. I think he got drunk and screwed up.
I wasn't focusing my statement at you--just in general.
But I also think it's clear now that he wasn't drunk--Davis said that he was, but I've heard that wasn't the case.
As you noted...the article says:
"Axelrod's father, David, is a prominent Democratic political consultant in Chicago who has worked with Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley."
Where is the video???>
That's not true Pub. I had stated my thoughts in an earlier thread and did not know it until this article. But I have not see any video of her striking the man, as you say. All I have seen was her getting in his face verbally. Now, why would she do that without reason....even if she is a hellion. I believe he was most likely deliberately antagonizing her any way he could just for the attention. I would bet he is embarrassed and trying to cover after he saw the tape.......probably taking a lot of ragging from his friends - thus the lawsuit threat, etc.
It's just fitting and more than a bit ironic, imo, that this heckler has turned out to be the son of one of the major Dem operatives in the entire country, that's all.
"Where is the video???>"
Try this link. Go to the column on this page that says video on demand. Scroll to "Knicks player jumps into stands to defend wife." The entire video is a pretty through account of everything.

The 'fan' needs to get a life. Seems as though this was a planned action in order to be able to sue Davis. Davis was in the right !!!
You're right... I'm just quoting the AP article. But I do find it delicious that this guy is connected to Demo bigwigs and is instantly turning to trial lawyers and threatening lawsuits.... Yeah, I know: it's the American Way, unfortunately. I'm sure Axelrod felt he hit the lottery with this incident.
I just watched the video and his wife clearly appears to be the aggressor in all of it.
"Got a link for that?"
This one's from the Chicago Tribune and you have to register. The Trib's one of those papers that will allow nothing more than an excerpt on FR:

Axelrod also pointed out that if he did go through with a lawsuit and won, the money would go to charity.
I saw part of the video and she was the one who touched Axelrod twice (my count) and was doing that "what you say" sort of jiggle while standing up and in his face. Axelrod had no drink in his had and was waving for security to come down. She, on the other hand, seem to be content to keep the name-calling going.
I'm sure you can Google more for additional info.
[ you won't believe... combines prominent Democrat political consultant (friends of Sens. Obama and Clinton and Mayor Daley) who is father of the guy allegedly abusing a Knicks player's wife in the stands.]
I do believe it. The dems are the plantation owners in America and should one be suprised that they feel it is their inherent right to abuse black people. They have been doing it as long as they have existed.
I read the article and the guy was using foul language. Who wants to hear the F word constantly? Not me. I say good for this mother, protecting her kid from the F word. There needs to be more like her. We also dont' know what HE said back to her.
maybe you should think about it. Unless it doesn't bother you. My office mate curses a LOT, which doens't get to me, but if he were around my kids I'd tell him to stop.
you can be very aggressive with words, too. What was said?
I found the video and I thank you for directing me to it. It DOES show Kendra was in the fan's face with her hands. It also shows the fan not getting involved, turning around and motioning security to come down. That is very clear. If you look even closer...it looks like (I dont know for sure)but it looks like you can see Kendra putting her hand on someone AFTER her husband got there. To me it looked like at that point she was trying to "squash" the incident. Did you see that too? Was that her or someone else. Look closely.
Perhaps the ball clubs should have special seating for the wives of the players. For one they would all be together and two...perhaps scenes like this just couldn't take place. That's just a thought on my part for the safety of everyone. But then again the ball clubs would lose money on those good seats so I am sure they wouldn't reserve a place for the wives. Money DOES come first ya know.
Getting back to the video however, it clearly shows Kendra in the face of the fan. Absolutely. What they all settle on is one thing and their businesss but...the video clearly shows what took place.
As for me and sports? I'm sick of all of it. It's gone beyond what games and competition has ever been about. I don't watch anymore. I guess we could check out films of sports games from years ago when people seemed to be more civil. At least I could watch the game for what it is and not all the other hoopla. I'm sure there were some who were toublemakers as there are in everything but....it's more prevalent today and turns my stomach. No one is worth the kind of money these players make and secondly they "demand" that kind of money and owners give it. It's out of control and no longer aabout the game, fans, little kids and heaven forbid Sportsmanship. It's all about the players and how much money they make and you name it. It's just not worth my time and effort. Not when I can sit back and watch some really intelligent, enjoyable shows that air lots of wonderful things without this kind of blatant behavior. Thanks again for directing me to the video and thanks for listening to my "soapbox." :) I didn't mean to get carried away but it all gets just sooooo damned old. I appreciate your help.
