Yeah--that was a heck of a day! It was too bad that this incident happened--otherwise, it would have been perfect.
This thing was really close to my heart, because I spent a lot of time helping to put it together--and I'm sorry to admit that I was thinking the PW's were intruders, too, for a while!

It's almost become an expected thing to see FReepers outside the main gate of Walter Reed. I think soldiers, family members, friends, and employees look forward to seeing us there every week.
Even though Code Pink retreated down the street, we noticed that no "horn honks" went with them...and no we don't wonder why!

Yes, you did spend a lot of effort. And your publicizing it here on FR was what got me to drive all that distance to demonstrate on what had to be one of the hottest days of the year. And that evening, I went down Praire Chapel Road to demonstrate on the RIGHT side of the road, until a thunder/dust storm drove us to the cars. Good work by all involved!

Almost every week we meet some great soldiers who come out and thank us for our support, a very humbling experience. Code Pink is so confused about what to do next. Each move is more embarassasing than the last.
