Entertainer Harry Belafonte, one of the Bush administration's harshest critics, compared the Homeland Security Department to the Nazi Gestapo on Saturday and attacked the president as a liar.
"We've come to this dark time in which the new Gestapo of Homeland Security lurks here, where citizens are having their rights suspended," Belafonte said in a speech to the annual meeting of the Arts Presenters Members Conference.
"You can be arrested and not charged. You can be arrested and have no right to counsel," said Belafonte.
Belafonte's remarks on Saturday part of a 45-minute speech on the role of the arts in a politically changing world were greeted with a roaring standing ovation from an audience which included singer Peter Yarrow of the folk group Peter, Paul and Mary, and members of the arts community from several dozen countries.

If the US Homeland Security Department is even
remotely similar to the GESTAPO...
...then Michael Chertoff is Major Hokstedder [of Hogan's Heros reknown].

For all that, there's still no way of being arrested for being a fool. Mr Dayo would have been hauled away long ago if that were the case. Of course, then someone would wind up paying his way at the fun farm.

Actually, his insanity is pretty entertaining, in my opinion. But his insanity is taken seriously by many (or is it some?) Evidence the "standing O" he received for his latest hyperbolic display of disloyalty. Will none dare call it treason? Non neo-conservatives will recall that phrase.

Entertainment??? One banana song 40 years ago.. Tiny Tim had more hits. What this racist should stick to is total retirement, preferably in another country..such as Sudan or Venezuela with his buddy Chavez.

We need to advertise over and over that Hillary had an appearance with this fool....she has to be seen as concurring with his feelings...because we all know she does..
but, she won't say it...
BTW...there was an article off that one...that has Howard Dean calling Rove "unpatriotic"...so FINALLY, I have seen a quote of someone calling a politician "unpatriotic"...
they have been accusing the Bush Administration saying that to them...but, I have never, EVER seen a quote where they have.

Republicans fought for freedom, and to end tyranny unlike the democrats, who fought against freedom and for tyranny in the civil war.
The republicans have to start fighting back with the truth!
