Got on with Rush a few times in the early days too.
Rush used my comments to John Gambling as part of his morning update one time.
The alarm woke me and there I was.......LOLOL......he coupled my comments with some comments of his own.

Yes, she was blind and I don't know what in the world anyone could have against Candy. I do know that Steve was targeted by a group who insisted he was a racist.
For a while Candy was advised not to call into the radio shows.
Don't know if there was a connection.
I am a total insomniac so I listen late at night, ALL THE TIME.

Are you listening to Brian Whitman? His show is so boring tonight.

Like that the retired cop is chastising Brian for the topic. Now he's insulting the old man.
Last week Brian remarked that Alito's wife was a bit crazy for crying.
He's just a jerk.
I'll be listening to Art Bell tonight. I'll nap during Drudge!!! LOL

I knew the liberals were taping his show all the time trying to nail him on something.
I think they wanted to find a way to get him thrown off radio. Glad Phil Boyce stuck with him, only wish they would have given him regular hours.

You too? I'm in Boston and was able to catch his show if the weather was right. So many nights when hubby was traveling I would listen to Steve. One of my favorites. Being a Ney Yawker helped my enjoyment of his show.

>I just heard Bob Grant retired and I suppose Malzberg is taking his spot.
Malzburg may be taking Bob's spot but he can't fill his shoes. WOR is going down, down, down, especially with this guy into the lineup.

Noori until he aggravates me so much I put 660, the sports station on! LOL......

Grant was invited out. He was the highest rated show on WOR. They wanted to put Rocco DeSpirito in because cooking show commercials bring BIG dollars to the station.
First thing out of the box DeSpirito decides he wants to do political commentary and does a PETA type slam on furs.
Needless to say, Flemington Furs, a big time sponsor on WOR was not amused and Rocco was out of there.
Then the attempts to fill the spot.....some good, some terrible. Steve was the best of all and I hope he gets to keep the spot permanently.

>Grant was invited out.
If he was invited out why did the manager asked Bob to reconsider on his last day on WOR? I listened to Bob's entire last hours on the station.
I hope steve will drag the station down further. Steve's voice is not made for radio and I won't be listening to it.
"Straight ahead!"
To: TheBrotherhood
The station manager told Bob the door would be open for 'something'.
They lost their highest rated host and are up the creek.
Wish they'd take John Gambling back and give WABC Steve Malzberg.
You have every right not to like him......don't listen.

Of course you're entitled to your worthless opinion :-). This is a free country after all. However, Steve has had a very positive track record wherever he has appeared on the air. Irrespective of your opinion, the fact of the matter is that his shows have always had very high ratings in the slots where he has been, both on WABC as well as WWRL and recently on WMAL in Washington DC. It was WABC's loss when they insisted on keeping Steve in the graveyard shift. His ratings during the night were way higher than WABC's are now with Coast to Coast.

I predict steve will not last longer than a couple of months, unless WOR wants to continue to lose listenership. Your pal Steve neither has the voice nor the intellect to be a talk show host. Perhaps he should go back to sports reporting in some unknown station or back to flipping pizzas.
I, and thousands of other listeners, won't be listening to him for sure to his spiteful shrieky voice.
And that, Cacique, it's a worthy opinion.

The Salute to Mario [,... se provino svacheem!]
