So how are they going to do that? Will farmers’ markets become dens of iniquity? Will berry-picking and foraging become felonies? It sounds absurd right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen.

Yes, but my understanding of the expression “we will bury you” is that they would outlive us, and attend our funeral where we were buried, in the way that people bury their grandmothers. No hostile intent or action is implied. That said, he was mistaken, we attended the burial of the Soviet Union, not the other way around.

Don’t use the bang list keyword for articles like this, ‘kay? It clutters up the list so an article that really does pertain to the Second Amendment and firearms might be missed.

How can something I wrote more than a year ago clutter anything up?

And if you review the occupational safety section of Healthy People 2010, it covers Firearms.

So, go ahead and miss my work, you will miss your guns. ‘kay?

“eliminate health disparities”

Sounds like code speak for socialized medicine.

For the record, I was browsing through FreeRepublic this morning and came across this and posted it to 2nd Amendment keywords specifically because I thought current and future activists should be aware of the impact NGO's (non-governmental organizations) in their public/private cooperation with actual government agencies will completely alter the landscape of public debate in the near future.

It is not just about direct 2nd Amendment topics, it is about "lead abatement","domestic violence", "gang violence" et.al.

There is an NGO coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

A good time will be had by all when they arrive.

Best regards,

Let’s try this again. The bang list was created specifically for Second Amendment arguments and firearms. It wasn’t made for vague articles that list over twenty issues none of which have anything to do with the Second Amendment. As far as missing articles like this, I’ll take my chances.

Let’s try this again. Healthy People 2010 removes firearms as a health and safety occupational hazard.

Heard that kind of remark in 1970.

And it came true.

But like the frog in water slowly brought to boil, most don't see it.

it does appear that dicey times are coming

And when they arrive, most still won't see it, as they will have slowly been accustomed to such changes.

Let’s try this again. The bang list was created specifically for Second Amendment arguments and firearms.

I will cheerfully review banglist history.

As I recall Joe Brower and others created the banglist in an attempt to gain some semblence of control over the flood of information that passed through FreeRepublic on a daily or even hourly basis.

Later the Brothers Robinson revamped the keyword function to allow keywords to supplant topic specific categories.

My test for banglist posts has always been very simple: As a 2nd Amendment Activist who has experienced first hand the unique joy and wonder of committee hearings and legislative sausage making anything of interest to me (should) be of interest to other 2nd Amendment activists.

The under-the-radar proliferation of Non Government Organizations should alarm 2nd Amendment Activists everywhere especially when their primary focus does not seem to be related to the 2nd Amendment even though it really is.

Your local policeman, for example, may soon attend a seminar on gang violence or domestic violence where an entire course composed of helpful tips on how to seize weapons from otherwise law abiding citizens will be presented and funded with YOUR tax dollars.

I urge my fellow 2nd Amendment Activists to educate themselves on NGOs and learn how they operate and why they are important.

Those with eyes will see, those with ears will hear; everyone else will get caught in the crossfire.

As Colonel Jeff Cooper once said: " Your primary weapon is your mind. Use it".

Best regards,

You have a choice.

You can educate yourself about NGO's or wait until some Public Policy Initiative Nazi appears on your doorstep with a clipboard in hand and a policeman in tow to inspect your "arsenal" because an elementary school mental health screen of your brothers children told them an "uncle has guns" and "kills animals" (hunts).

Calpernia has helpfully highlighted some of the more obvious 2nd Amendment aspects in posts 108 and 107, but, in my opinion, the "Initiatives" that are the most dangerous are the ones where people (gunowners) will have difficulty connecting the dots between the announced agenda and the actual agenda.

"It is for the children, after all"

There are many comments in this thread (some from Banglist regulars) and elsewhere about the dangers of these small groups of Socialists who are given funding to cause trouble whereever and whenever they can.

Enjoy your education.

Best regards,

DAMN! And DAMN, again!!

I have to quit going on vacations, so I don’t miss stuff like this.

Bring on the breathable, non-suffocating, flotational bubble wrap, so I can feeeeeeeel safe, O Mighty Federal Government!

If it isn’t animal tracking, it’s people harassing.
