At least Santorum says what he believes.

If he believes that sticking a bumper sticker on the car is the same as serving your country in the military, there's not a big enough boot to kick him out of office and replace him with somebody who actually knows what it means to serve your country (here's a hint, it's not sticking a 50-cent bumper sticker on your car).

Pennsylvania has a lot of good Republicans, I'm sure they can find somebody better than him.

A couple of people emailed me about a speech he gave a few days ago, and at first I thought they were kidding, and then somebody emailed me the video tonight.

I couldn't believe that he would have the gall to talk about the men and women in our military who are "willing to sacrifice their lives for this great country" and then turn around and say "What I'm asking all of you is not to put on a uniform, but put on a bumper sticker. Is that too much to ask? Is it that much to ask you to step up and serve your country?".

If I was running against him, I would just run that portion of his speech as my campaign ad. Pennsylvania has more than enough vets and currently serving troops to vote him out, and unfortunately he probably gave his office away to a democrat.

what's your problem? Is asking people to rhetorically support the war asking too LITTLE or TOO MUCH?

I dont see how it is inappropriate at all. This is no different from similar statements Bush and other administration officials have made. In fact, if more Americans stood up and vocalized support for the war, it would be a wonderful thing for this country and a morale boost for our military!
