Bingo.
.17 cal? Isn't that a pellet gun? That isn't going to do her much good.
I'll correct myself. Several folks do make a .17 Cal.
I still wouldn't want to stake my life on one.
What do you expect? The majority of the "refugees" are criminals.. DUH, Yeah I said it.
.17 is not stopping power. Stick with the .45
Not that Houston didn't have any problems before but it is now rampant as evidenced by this in today's news......... "The attack began around 4:30pm on January 19. Police say they picked up the girl as she was walking to her grandmother's house near Wheeler and Dowling in southeast Houston. They forced her into a car at gunpoint and drove her to an unknown location. The suspects repeatedly sexually assaulted her. The teen was released in the area of Catalina and Gulf Meadows on January 20. The suspects are described as black males in their late 20s who spoke with Louisiana accents. The vehicle was a 1993-1995 dark green Ford Taurus with dark tint on the rear windows.
Police say if you recognize these men you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or HPD Juvenile Sex Crimes at 713-731-5498.
Pegged that one just right.
These people are just sitting on their fat, food stamp bloated behinds continuing to "let" the producers and taxpayers of the nation provide them with free housing months after people in places hit much harder by Katrina than 'Nawlins have been busy rebuilding their lives.
C'mon there Hillary. These are folks from YOUR plantation.
I'll correct myself. Several folks do make a .17 Cal.Wow, there are actually two pistol rounds ( .17 HMR and .17 Aguila) in this caliber. Takes a strange mind to think of necking down a 22 rimfire round. Good news is that in some rifles in .17 Aguila can use standard hicap 10/22 magazines.
I still wouldn't want to stake my life on one.

I am aware of .177 rifle cartridges, but I'm unaware of any pistols chambered for such rounds. Are there any "real" pistols chambered for a .177 cartridge?
More info can be found on our old friend Varmint Als website.
Here's a pic also from Varmint Als site:
Here's another one for comparison to a .22 LR and a couple of wildcat .22 cals.

I simply cannot imagine living in this situation. After one day of being in fear of my life, I'd be gone. I don't know what I'd do, or where I would go, but I'd darn well figure it out.
It surprises me that so many people lack any kind of...I don't know if it's survival instinct, or a type of ambition maybe?
How much of the powder in one of those cartridges will burn before the bullet exits the barrel on something like that mini-revolver? I appreciate that the HMR is a decent rifle round, but would think a .22LR or even .22 short would be more effective in a mini-revolver of a given overall length (the shorter rounds could have longer barrels). I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone (NAA?) makes a mini-revolver in .177 but I don't see any reason to buy or own such a weapon.
