Threat from aircraft is the tip of the iceburg. I guess THEY have you feeling comfortable and well protected.

actually i am one of those that knows that i don't have all the answers so i leave it up to people who have access to way more information than i do.
The Canadians I met were a bunch of stand-up guys. Military volunteers tend to be.

I hope the Canadians win this one...at least they didn't put up an asinine TFR, which helps show how bloody useless the U.S. ones are. Unless, of course, you're a corporation wanting to keep total control of ad revenues.

And there's going to be a s***load of security around the venues. A tanker truck isn't going to be just waved on into the secure perimeter, and you'd have to get extremely close to the stadium to do anything more than make a really loud noise.
The nightmare scenario for me is some jihadis with a couple M120 mortars. They could stay in Canada and lob HE & Willie Pete into Ford Field. A few rounds open up the roof, and the rest land wherever they may.
The casualties from the mortar shells would be minimal--maybe even none at all. The casualties from the panicked stampedes would be much more impressive--and the panic would be shown to over a billion viewers around the world.

I think you've got it. The funniest thing I saw was the SWAT guys walking around NYC with their MP5's as if a screaming horde of muzzies were going to attcack any second. It's just to send a message to the serfs.
