Indeed, yes! If the Palis stupidly attack, then Israel has the right under international law to conquer Gaza all over again. Bring back Netayahu!!

If Bush is a NEOCON then the election went as planned.

If Hamas attacks Israel again it does so as a (semi-)State.

And Israel will be free to attack the state attacking it.

The PEOPLE of Palestine will now get what they voted for.

Total defeat.

Mat i point out that this was a Clintoon policy that was dumped on the lap of Bush one that He should have dropped like a hot potato but instead he let Colin Powell and the brain trust at the state department handle it

Bush bears the responcibility for all he through the state department pressure Israel to hand over to the Palestinians -- and I don't see how we can make it up to israel except to create a DMZ and put us or the UN in as a buffer -- but no one would want to do that.

Probably 4 uyears ago when saddam was in power I wrote on FR a proposal that we lob off part of lower western part of iraq we put in water electric and we build a city in ther and then give it so the palestinians maybe it would have cost a billion or 5 billion but these people would have been removed from directly against israel and had jordan as the buffer

The truth is tha NO ARAB COUNTRY or NO ISLAMIC COUNTRY wants the Palestinians they are despiesed by all the arabs except to use as a tool to attack Israel.

Bush's policy?

How bout everyone's policy, just happens Bush is here now. People at fault here are all the people that think they can diplomatically resolve any situation. How is it possible for discourse with someone hellbent on killing you, raping you, owning you or converting you? The U.S. unfortunately cares too much about the rest of the world...time to bring your diplomacy and troops back home where they belong...cos those retards that just elected a terror party deserve no sympathy or help, for they are without conscience and common sense.
Bush IMHO gave the Palestinians one last chance, tried to help both sides...it backfired, so what...now we have this on our side, Hamas will show the rest of the world their true colors, but actions will speak louder than words. Been seeing Hamas portrayed as saviors, givers of medecine, shelter, education for many of the Palestinians on Cnn and a few other stations...but,somehow, they fail to mention what they teach in their mosques or how many of the ones that they helped went on to blow themselves up in the name of Allah, for the fall of the zionists. The media is already on Hamas' side, now we'll have to wait and see while they sway public opinion how many will bite. I'm seeing talks between Sean Penn, *Cair*, Ahchhmadjijinahahahad, Syria and Israel with Egypt as the Moderator in the coming future.

And very fortunately, but not coincidentally, there are no Israelis in Gaza whose safety they need to worry about!

Enlightened Times?

If you refer to this new Millenium, it's a joke, that we, as a fallen human race, could NEVER again have ocnflict, bloodshed or fighting...

...at least, not until JESUS comes back to take control and physically reign over the Earth & Mankind.

Correct this is not Bush's policy it was a hand me down just like everything else he inherited.

Why he kept it I'll never understand.

The time-worn peacenik slogan "Give Peace a Chance" just evaporated in the Middle East. Hamas are violent terrorists. Fatah will not work with them.

But what really changed? After all Fatah were (and are) terrorists too. They'd just shucked 'n jived enough to avoid the explicit label, but, heck, one of their major candidates (Bargouti, sp?) ran from an Israeli prison where he's serving time for organizing terror attacks.

What the Hamas win does is add CLARITY to the situation. It's a good thing.

Rubbish.

This is exactly what it's about. If we are trying to enforce a preconceived outcome for elections, then we are no better than those who win elections with 99.9% of the "vote".

Our lack of control over others is what we are trying to prove. It is not up to us how they vote. How we deal with the resuts, now that is another story entirely. We will not tolerate another Saddam's Iraq in the process.

"Be free, do what you will. But, if you foster terrorism to export, we will crush you."

The way ahead appears bumpy and uncertain, but despite its chagrin at the jolting triumph of Hamas in Palestinian parliamentary elections, the Bush administration will apparently continue to fumble for a formula to bring peace to the Middle East.

Pardon me for my disagreement to your statement, however the POTUS has, time and time again, conveyed his diligence in protecting the USA.

After all, as POTUS, this is his biggest concern.

He has performed well with his duties to protect the USA and as POTUS his concerns are not and shouldn't be focused on the sovereign nation of Israel.

He has however shown his support for Israel and their status as a sovereign nation.

Look at Korea, Vietnam, Iraq...

At the risk of being "yelled-at-to-the-point-of-self destruction"...

...we fought in Korea & Vietnam under a horrible politically-imposed national policy of Containment (of Communism), which turned out to be worse than expected. Basically, in both conflicts, US troops were denied permission to go on the offensive (except to regain territory the enemy took).

I don't see as many fighting restrictions placed on our Armed Forces serving in Iraq.

I may be wrong but it sure looks like "give the Palis enough rope and they'll hang themselves".

Can the Bush policy for peace with the Palestinians and replace it with the Bush policy for fighting the war on terror. The Palestinians have embraced terror. The Taliban did the same thing. Now, we have a choice to either join with the Israelis and reward Hamas for it's victory with a fireworks party sponsored by the US Air Force. OR - we can stand with Kofi Annan and try to find a ray of hope and a partner in Hamas.

We have a policy for dealing with Terrorists. We blow them the hell up! Consistency makes the Islamofacists hate us - but they will also fear and respect us. Remember when Hamas was tied to attacks on the US. They ran from that like frightened mice. If we threaten to rip them a new one, they will negotiate on our terms.

The threat of us joining in the battle with Israel will scare the crap out of them.

Personally, I don't think the Israelis are stupid but if you do.............

When the Palis are about to show the world they really ARE rabid dogs, get out of their way and let them do it.
