MSNBC | 1/27/06 | HonduGOP

Posted on 01/27/2006 4:57:35 PM PST by HonduGOP

Joe Scarborough announced on MessNBC that Rudy Giuliani will become the next US President. Chris Matthews quickly agreed saying that the former NYC Mayor is the "under the radar candidate" for the Presidency. Rita Cosby reported that she can envision a "Giuliani-McCain" dream ticket that would sweep into the White House. Tucker Carlson said "not so fast, Rudy will have a hard time convinving the South" but Scarborough said that Rudy is quickly moving to the right and will moderate himself on abortion, gun control and gay marriage. Scarborough said that htis week Giuliani has benn "doing nice" with Evangelicals and found a very significant number of them with an open mind to a Giuliani candidacy; Scarborough also added that Rudy would say: "we did not need guns in NYC because the response time for the NYPD is under 3 minutes, but in South Dakota the response time is 35 minutes or more, so you'd better have a gun to defend yourself" Chrissy Matthews was having pleasure waves in his body at the thought of a Giuliani-McCain Administration.

No way I'd vote for McCain. Maybe I'd vote for Guiliani if he was running against Hillary.

Well, Thomas Jefferson is not running, and one could do MUCH worse than getting Rudy. Suboptimal, but acceptable.

The MSM wants to push Rudy and or McCain, this would assure conservatives would stay home.
Either would push America closer to the edge!

I find hard to believe Rita Cosby and Chrissy's fascination with a Giuliani-McCain ticket. Matthews also seemd disappointed that Rush Limbaugh had essentially endorsed George Allen for 2008.

I was listening VERY CAREFULLY to them all and, though I heard them talking about Rudy, this is not quite what I heard.

"Nightmare ticket" is what it is. These leftist nutjobs must really be anticipating a Republican dynasty if this is what they are advocating.

1) Rudy is a RINO, and
2) Rudy has had (and may still have) prostate cancer

No, thank you.

Gulliani/Allen 08 would be geographically and politically pleasing. Even vice versa would be sweet.

Keep in mind Rudy was mayor of NYC, one has to govern more moderatley to survive. Trust me when he can run nationwide he will be much more center right. On foreign policy you will have no better man. And he is a tax cutter, and to be frank could care less about gay marriage or abortion one way or the other and would glady appoint conservative justices to please the base. He would be a stronger ally then McCain and more conservative as well.

Yes, Matthews, Cosby and Scarborough seemed very receptive to a Giuliani candidacy (whereas Carlson was not). Cosby floated with glee the Giuliani-McCain ticket. They also mentioned Huckabee as a possible candidate especially after Huckabee went to Iraq, evidently under the auspices of Secretary Rice. They also mentioned Kerry, Edwards as Dems for 2008 and did not hear them say much or anything about Hillary

Rudy got out of Hillary's way, by being "too sick" to be senator. However he rallied somehow, and wasn't too sick after 911. Hillary will say "Scat" and Rudy will say, "yes ma'am."

Not to mention Rudy cheated on his wife. The leftists would love to throw that in our faces if we were to nominate him (that goes double for Newt Gingrich).

I think Rudy would make a good VP pick. He's very good on the attack, as seen at last GOP convention.

Allen looks to be the good conservative choice.

Did Bill Owen in Colorado botch his chances with his squishiness on the budget?

I know Rudy is not popular on FR. But I still say he would make a good VP candidate, perhaps Allen/Rudy 2008. Rudy maintains a strong connection to americans regarding 9/11, and the republicans need the national security issue to win.

I'd love to see George Allen run. I think he's a winner!
