Jeez, now we are going to see the Conservative blind-spot again. The government seizing other people's private property without recompense is wonderful. In some cases the owner has to prove that the property is "not guilty". Wonderful. Joint property can be seized if one of the joint owners does something wrong and the other joint owner never has. Wonderful.

Yes, its wonderful. Smoking at home? Seize it. Gun not locked up properly in the home? Seize it. Trash can too close to the curb? Seize it. Marine Corps flag flying in the yard on a pole too high? Seize it.

Gotta love a Free Republic where the government can sieze private property when they want and don't have to prove you guily of anything to do it.

And people on here support it when its a seizure for their pet peeve. Don't come crying about the liberals seizing gun owners houses when they get in charge.

You are right. It's disgusting. We have fines and jail-terms for a reason. Seizing property just gives the police a reason to look for something to seize. It's about as American as the KGB arresting people for being in the wrong category of society.

"Jeez, now we are going to see the Conservative blind-spot again."

There are alot of people on FR who think they are conservative but they are really just big-gov't types like the libs. They scream about Hillary's abuses of power but they LOVE gov't regulations and laws when it suits their purposes. And the stiffer the penalties, the better, as far as they are concerned.

Given that those loud speaker systems are designed to be an assault on the peace, I don't think there's a conservative argument against reasonable measures to stop them.

My thoughts exactly, fine them harshly then move along. The Gov't does not have a right to take the property unless a serious felony crime has been committed.

Excellent, excellent points.

Thank you.

I had (also) thought that a central tenet of conservativism was property rights. It is certainly essential for a free economy. Perhaps there is a violation here, but seizure is not the proper response.

Half the people on FR are not really conservative at all. There are many people who think this os all fine as long asit happens to "those people" not realizing that they are "those people" as soon as someone else might come into power.

I don't want to take anybody's car away. I just want to nail the car with an RPG. Trouble is, that would make an awful mess for the fire dept to clean up.

Fine and sentence them to a full day of listening to classical music while sitting in hard chairs.
