I think this is a good idea. Kids do bettr absorbing lanugages than us calcified oldsters.
Chinese kids don't seem to have a problem with the way Chinese works.
I wish someone would have taught me Chinese. Believe me, in the new world coming it will be much more important than Spanish.
Absolutely true. Kids are like sponges when they're young. It is much easier for them to learn foreign languages. I began taking Spanish when I was in the second grade, and even had a little French in the third grade. After seven years of Spanish, I had a breeze of a time in high school Spanish, and cruised through a Spanish minor in college.
Chinese is not terribly difficult to learn to speak. It's the reading that kills ya! My daughter has a rudimentary ability, but I really wish her school would offer it.
