SUV?

I'm at the office, so I'm getting my description via phone. My mom said, "it looks like an SUV."

If it was an SUV, they probably would have included THAT in the report too.

Potentially, trying to rattle us on the way to either the SOTU tomorrow or the Super Bowl Sunday.

As for the lack of adjectives, it's really starting to piss me off!!

LOL! I was typing too fast and neglected to punctuate!

Try this: Silver vehicle. Man, woman, baby & two other men. Cache of weapons including AK-47 and explosive devices.

Nah, local TV news websites are deliberately vague so that you will tune in for "News at 4" (and 6 and 10).

Yep, I'm hearing that it is. Rush hour will still be nasty due to the backup. I-40 through Nashville is heavily traveled at 3 in the AM much less 3 PM.

More from WSMV.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities shut down all eight lanes of Interstate 24/40 in downtown Nashville Monday afternoon after stopping a sport utility vehicle and finding firearms inside.

Officers also found a device that was detonated on suspicion it might be an explosive.

Reports said handguns, a sawed off shotgun, an AK-47 rifle and body armor were found in the vehicle after it was stopped for failing to signal a lane change [driving like everyone else in Nashville!].

Traffic backed up for miles in both directions as the interstate was closed for 75 minutes. It reopened about 3:15pm.

LOL, I see you remember that guy.

Worse yet, I've got this song stuck in my head now.

I'm your silver vehicle, baby
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your silver vehicle, woman
But I'm not sure you know
That I love ya (love ya)
I need ya (need ya)
I want ya, got to have you, child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you
Oh, you know I do

Wonder if these will be another of those interesting "only in Tennessee" stories that never registers on the national radar.

Did they ever learn who murdered that woman in the DMV who knowingly was selling genuine licenses to illegal immigrant arabs who travelled down from NY/NJ AFTER the 9-11 attacks? Did those guys ever get deported? I know that they were not sentenced to anything more than "time served" (all were caught based on a tip and the transaction was observed). She had also been arrested and was murdered less than a day after she was released on bail. (firebomb in her back seat).

We'll likely never know what these people were doing! However if it had happened in NYC or LA or Hollyweird, it would be on all 3 cable news networks ad nauseum right now.

My favorite Tennessee "national security" story that we never got an update on is: Two Israelis Arrested in east Tennessee Transporting Suspicious Materials

Now I see. I was going Murfreesboro Rd. to Foster Avenue at 4:00, stopped at the library at Foster and Thompson Lane, got on I-440 via Nolensville Rd. (which was totally backed up towards the Murfreesboro Rd. exit) but had clear sailing to Lebanon after that.

Maybe the terrorists heard I was going to Lebanon and thought I might be their homey. Seriously though, there was an incident some time back where some Mossad guys were running wild in a van all around the Oak Ridge area, causing many residents to believe that they were terrorists. As no further information on THAT came to light I have to believe the Feds were hosting some Israelis who got tanked up and abused their guest status.

I sure would breathe a lot easier if our borders were secured instead of being left porous for the benefit of Cheap Labor contributors. When the inevitable live round comes up in this Russian Roulette National Insecurity Game only the innocent will suffer.

Feds tipped off locals that this vehicle was on its way to the Napier Housing project to sell illegal weapons (yes - I know - vehicles can't sell weapons). Wonder how the Feds knew? Some of that dastardly spying that the Bush Administration does that violates everyone's rights? /sarcasm off/ No names have been released yet, but the man apparently has multiple felony convictions and the woman was riding in the front seat with the baby on her lap. I'll bet they do more time for not having the infant properly secured than they will for selling weapons illegally!

Tinfoily? "It's not a matter if you're paranoid - the pertinent question is 'Are you paranoid enough?"

But if you want to stay sane AND relatively safe I find it's best to go through life confidently, walking the balance between gut feelings and accumulated information. Too far one way and you're a secluded idiot missing out on life and its opportunities; tipped too far the other way makes one an easy mark for shysters and evil people. As neither intelligence, accumulated knowledge or heart can't account for the astounding luck I've had (should have been dead at least six times by my count) I have to give credit to God or some other incomprehensible factor.

I no longer question it. I DO believe that karma is a valid concept that follows most people but somehow eludes some exceptional others. It would be nice if that when we're born a plastic-covered rulebook for life was ejected with the placenta.
