Now that the Alito filibuster has collapsed, the anger -- anger at Democrats, that is -- is boiling over at the DailyKos. One diatribe from one of the site's "recommended diaries":
What I want is a complete list of every scumsucking f--kstick Democratic a--hole senator who voted for cloture. That's what I want.I don't know what to DO with that list, not yet -- but I know for G--DAMNED sure I won't be VOTING for any of them, let alone sending them any g--damned MONEY.
Frankly, right now I'd like nothing better than to torpedo the entire lot of them. Just dump them like so much worthless, leaden, VICHY MOTHERF--KING BALLAST.

For some time now I've been predicting that, far from 2006 being a year of ascendency for the dims, that this is the death knell election for the Democrat Party as we know it. I fully expect the radical leftists to either take over or leave and form their own party, taking most of the moonbats with them. The DLC types will go someplace else and so will the Black Caucus. None of them will be viable for several years, perhaps decades.
Given the state of RINOs, particularly in the Senate, I'm not sure that's a good thing. It may push the Republicans to try to compensate and move left. It might guarantee extending Republican hegemony (I hate that word) or it may destroy what little is left of Reagan's lecacy. Will we get another Nixon, who wants to build more EPAs or national health care that is more liberal than anything Hillary ever dreamed of? (both of those were Nixon initiatives - he got the EPA and Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy rejected the health care because it wasn't radical enough).
I'm very concerned... but I want lift a finger to help the dims keep from imploding. I'll just dig in my heels to keep the McCainiacs and the Chafees, et al., from getting any more influence.

An implosion of the Democrats wouldn't seem likely to force the Republicans to the left. They could go as far right as they felt like.
