They should moor this ship next to the USS Texas by Houston, these flakes don't deserve to have this great ship anywhere near them.

Turn the Iowa's guns on City Hall and then send her south to San Diego, where they still respect the military.

Bring the Iowa to Houston or Galveston. We know how to honor proper warriors.

I don't think even an LGBT themed museum will sell the board of stupidvisors on keeping the Iowa here, maybe if ya paint it pink or rainbow colors.
The current crew of idiots at City Hall are a bunch of ignoramuses that seem to relish spitting on those who served , regardless their orientation. I'd like to be proven wrong, but..

Thank you G-d that the battleship Oklahoma went to the bottom during a
tow from Pearl Harbor.
It was bad enough she'd have ended up as scrap...but as a memorial to
Brokeback luvin' is too much to contemplate.

Last July, San Franciscos county supervisors voted 8-3 against bringing the vintage World War II battleship Iowa to San Francisco as a permanent tourist attraction. Some opponents said they were taking a stand against both the war in Iraq and a military that boots out gays and lesbians, a powerful faction in local politics.i think it's time for the Iowa to fire a couple of salvos into San Fransico, and "adjust some attitudes". Just visualise what those eight remaining 16" guns would do to city hall. Yes, they could easily reach it.
The military ought to move that fine old ship somewhere else where it would be appreciated, and not emasculated.

She should be scuttled rather than that.

I'd rather see this fine ship turned to razor blades or scuttled in deep water than be abused like this in San Francisco.

You know, I served with a sailor I now know was gay during my time in the RAN. He served honourably and diligently.
And I know that this idea would absolute horrify him.
His view is that if gays want to serve in the military, then they should be allowed to - but the moment their sexuality becomes relevant to their service, something is wrong. You're a sailor or a soldier or an airman. Nothing else is important.
He would be horrified at the suggestion that somehow there was something special about being a gay sailor. He was a sailor, pure and simple.
