A ranking Louisiana health official turned down federal offers to help move or evacuate patients as Hurricane Katrina bore down on New Orleans, a newly released document shows.

Oh, Hilliary....

What was the original headline? "FEMA Acknowledges Blunders During Katrina"

No bias there. Nope. None at all.

The media bias is really astonishing isn't it? Sometimes I can't even believe it.

Louisiana officials didn't have a clue what to do. Cause W is a republican with a republican administration, they had insane thoughts the feds were trying to take over their state. What a bunch of real dummies which caused lots of deaths that could have easily been prevented. The citizens of Louisiana should impeach everyone involved in this debacle.

Me too. This will come up later, and you can bet on long term memory loss on the part of the media.

Here's an interesting response:

re: Louisiana refusing help from the feds

Duh!

I've been telling you that for months.

Love,

Anyone that remains a resident of Louisiana after this entire episode...ought to reevaluate their position in life. The state isn't going to ever provide emergency services for you. If you live anywhere near New Orleans, then all of the county and city services are absolutely corrupt and cannot be counted upon. Why would you remain in a state like this?

Another pitiful political performance by the Republicans on this one. Just like 9/11 they let Bush take the total blame. They really give the Dem mythbuilders great material.

How can this be? It was all Bush's fault. Because he doesn't care about blacks.

Bwaaahaha!!

This exact story had an earlier headline that said FEMA screwed up and admitted fault. AP & Mssss Laura Jakes Jordan must have been bombarded with complaints.

"Why would you remain in a state like this?"

We had to move out of Louisiana when my husband was transferred. However, my entire family still lives there and would never dream of leaving. For the most part, the people of La. are great. They are not all like the ones you've seen on t.v.

I loved NO when I was there on business a few years back. Great food, nice people. But it was a bit unnerving to be told not to walk alone from the Quarter back to my hotel in the business district, even during the day.

And they say NYC (my own hometown) is dangerous!
