If you are young, impulsive, idealistic and want to have your head bashed in, attend this kind of thing.

Otherwise, avoid this kind of craziness and especially the nutcases that promote it.

Terrorism is not defeated by more terrorism.

How is it that this event could be considered terrorism? As I recall the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances is afforded to free people everywhere. OK, not everywhere. Certainly not Iran.

Stop the crap. Going to blatantly violent protests puts all participants in harms way.
Inexperienced, well meaning idealists are all too often the innocent victims of brutal and bloody violence that almost always occurs at these events.
It's a matter of common sense, not constitutional rights my starry eyed idealist.
As a rule, stay as far away from these types of things as you can.
Your very life may depend on it.

"And as a man, who is attached to a prostitute, is unfitted to choose or judge of a wife, so any prepossession in favour of a rotten constitution of government will disable us from discerning a good one." --- Thomas Paine, Common Sense 1776.

If this is going to be as dangerous as you surmise, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Reward without risk is meaningless.

1. Please let us know sooner about demonstrations. I have a dozen people who would have liked to attend if given advance notice.

2. It would be dangerous if it were held in Iran. I'm not sure if the warning of physical danger confused Los Angeles with Tehran. Some gangland areas may be surprisingly similar in a few ways. Gangs instead of Bassijis.

3. I had to deal with attacks on demonstrators by pro-Mullah thugs sent to Europe by the Isalmic Republic shortly after Khomeini took over. After some "unknown people" appeared and thumped them really hard, their attacks stopped abruptly. Specially when the sign taken from an Islamic Embassy entrance stayed up in a subway toilet location for several days before Islamic officials found out.

Where in heaven do you get the idea that a Los Angeles demonstration will be dangerous?

Why are you trying so hard to scare people off and prevent them attending?

Scaremongering for what purpose? Specially when it's so far from reality.

You sound just like the IRGC or Bassijis (if you know who these groups are) warning students and others in Iran to stay off the strets and not protest.

Do you happen to support the two groups mentioned above? Or their masters?

It's your free choice if you do and you have the right to say what you have said, but it does seem a bit strange to warn people off demonstrating in front of the Federal Building in Los Angeles! Tehran yes, LA?

Mind boggling warning. Care to explain to those of us who are confused?

A nationwide CONUS rally for democracy in Iran is truly unprecedented. I commend the organizers as heroes for democracy no matter what the outcome. Bravo United American Committee!

..demonstrating and counter-demonstrating is an important part of the FR mission.

Godspeed and be sure to ask Mayor Villaraigosa if he has a clue yet.
