Skip to comments. Is John Kerry the Next Al Gore?

Losing presidential elections appears to be quite difficult for Democratic nominees to take. Al Gore has now evolved into a hysterical radical, unhinged caricature and attacks anything that doesn't fit his far left agenda at every turn. Now it appears John Kerry is set to join the unhinged failed presidential candidate club. After his Davos dial, where he called for a filibuster of new Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito from the slopes, he hit the airwaves on Wednesday morning and threw a bit of a hissy fit on the NBC's 'Today' Show.
It was to be nothing more than an anti-Bush screed, but surprisingly host Katie Couric tired of it very quickly.
It appears that the radical fringe attacking the perky Katie for correcting Howard Dean was a poor idea.
Katie continued her auditions of Democrats this morning. This time her guest was the haughty, French-looking junior senator from Massachusetts and Katie gave him the skeptical treatment she usually reserves for conservatives.
The topic was the SOTU, and Couric began by putting him on the defensive:
"Was there anything you appreciated or liked hearing?"
-When Kerry accused W's proposals on energy as "falling far short" and started ticking off his laundry list, Katie cut him off: "Senator, the president certainly insisted that he wants to be headed in that direction." When Kerry tried to respond, she brought him up short: "So the question is, will the Democrats work with him?"
-When Kerry accused the president of not making the country safer, and described threats including Iran, N. Korea Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, again Couric interrupted. With a skeptical tone she asked: "Can you blame all those things, Senator, do you think you can squarely blame them on the administration?"
-When Kerry dismissed W's proposals on education and competitiveness as "timid," Couric reminded him that the president said "he wanted to train 70,000 additional teachers in math and science." Kerry answered in his best Martha's Vineyard lockjaw, "and that's terrific, Katie" while continuing his carping.
Katie saved her best zingers for last:
"In our latest NBC poll, 63% of those asked said the Democrats are doing a poor job at presenting a clear agenda and putting forth new ideas. That is 63%. That's a pretty sizeable number of people, Senator. If the president and the Bush administration had such a rocky year, in 2005, why weren't the Democrats able to capitalize on that in a more effective way?"
-When Kerry started complaining about the limited time the Democrats were given to respond to the SOTU, and that "all of you commentators were busy commenting," a clearly irritated Couric interrupted. Flashing a sarcastic smile, she asked "Oh you can't blame it all on the media, can you, Senator?"
Sounding a theme she had raised with Dean, Katie then complained of "poisonous partisanship," asked what could be done about it, and recognized that "certainly the president addressed that last night."
It's still not clear if John Kerry wishes to fall off the left cliff in an attempt to land the 2008 nomination. As he moves closer towards the irrelevance that is Al Gore he may want to reconsider if he is ever to add his voice to serious debate.
Especially if he plans on interviewing with the perky Katie Couric again.
Someone better tell Lurch that it's apparent that he's become completely irrelevant when Katie Couric is willing to kick his butt on national television.
I'm sorry I missed the show. I gave up on the perky one long ago.
He was Al Gore before there was an Al Gore.
I thought that John Kerry was the last Algore. Al Gore was the Algore before that. The next Algore will be whoever the next Democrat loser is.
That's not even close to the actual percent (maybe 15%) and is absurd.
The guy is psycho.
All he needs now is to gain a lot of weight.
Could she possibly be transforming into an actual reporter?
Jillionaire gigolo Jinjis John has Alzheimers.
He can't remember his position on anything from one minute to the next.
oh that will leave a mark
No Kidding. And when she asked him if was really blaming it on the media...priceless! If Kerry goes the way the DUmmies and consider the MSM as conservatively biased we'll know he's really fallen down the Left cliff.
Gore and Kerry are the ultimate sore losers. They lost and now both are out of the spotlight they thought was there birthright (being President) and now they cry and cry and they are both making fools of themselves.
I could not be more happy for both of these spoiled brats!
Unlikely. She is probably just trying to help Hillary get the Democrat nomination.
No but Treeezzzaaaa and John "F"ing may want to adopt AG as a play mate for Dr. Ding (I mean the other John ayweeeee!!!)
BTW does Eddy Kennedy not look more like Jabba the Hut everyday???
And to lose about $990,000,000 in net worth....
Kerry invented Al Gore.
OK....jokes over....this did NOT happen in the MSM....
Actually Gore and Kerry were both hysterical radical, unhinged caricatures who attacked anything that doesn't fit there far left agenda at every turn before they lost a presidential election. They just made a better effort to disguise it from the sheeple.
Agreed. I think the reason is the Dems hate a loser.
That is all.Carry on.
-after he gains weight, he can get a speeding ticket.
Oh crap, do we really need additional fees on our phone bill and another internet???
Another CBS Evening News audition for her.
More bad news for the Swiss Miss.
It would be a minor miracle if the people of Massachusetts woke up this election, and voted this putz out of office.
If he's spending his time drinking with Teddy K, Theresa or both, it's probably Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome, not Alzheimer's.
If Katie was a conservative, they would be calling for her head, and they'd get it, if she had asked these same questions of Kerry in the way she asked.
As it is, I think everyone knows that she's just another liberal venting because even the Dems are pissed about W's great performance and their own vacuum of leadership on the issues.
As much as I loath those losers (Katie Cakes included), I see it as Katie starting to kick them to the curb so Hitlery can swoop in on her broom and save the DemonRatic Party.
Katie is a skunk and will never change her stripe. She's got her pulpit and her agenda and she's going to do all she can to get a Communist in the White House within her lifetime.
I saw this and thought she did a good number on him. His tongue kept on popping out he was so mad.
A dimwitted losing liar? Well yeah! Next obvious question!
I'm starting to suspect he's the LAST Al Gore, in disguise.
I know how he could lose about 150 ugly pounds. He could get a divorce.
"Could she possibly be transforming into an actual reporter?" Nah, just clearing some of the debris out of Hildabeast's way.
He cana't handle the comparison...He has his eyes
seared on the ampaign trail....gets him away from the
old battleaxe...Kerry's next slogan...I tried the soup
before I married Teresa...Jake
"Gore and Kerry are the ultimate sore losers. They lost and now both are out of the spotlight they thought was there birthright (being President) and now they cry and cry and they are both making fools of themselves.
There is a key common thread in both of these personalities. Kerry and Gore have both intentionally deluded themselves into thinking more of themselves than really exists. To prop up their well placed inferiorty complexes, both make up heroic stories about themselves and go around repeating the hoaxes in speeches. ie: Kerry and his Viet Nam/Cambodia excursions; Gore had HIS boasting of his Viet Nam heroics. (he was a clip board carrying reporter in the rear with the gear. This was many years before he invented the internet, you know)
Moi Kerri should have stayed in the shadows behind Mt Teddy Kennedy. Kerri gets into trouble whenever he goes on stage by himself and opens his mouth.
Just a guess, but I'm thinking F'n tried to hit on Katie at some point, and she was unresponsive to his masculinity.
On or about 1 FEB 06, while on routine patrol

John F. Kerry
Reporting for dooty.
A clueless twit following a script is still a clueless twit.
Couric OR sKerry, my statement fits both.
I'll bet Effin's individual net worth is not in seven figures. He lives off what Mama T decides to dole out to him.
Yes, I agree entirely. Just clearing out the road-blocks so the Hildabeast has clear sailing!
I can't figure out if this piece is real or not. There is no Scrappleface byline, but this sure doesn't sound like Katie Couric.
I thought he was going to become the next Harold Stassen.
Katie is clearing the aisles for Mrs. Bill Clinton.
