I've been posting here for two and a half years now, and if the site owners don't want me here, they know what to do.
Like I said, the Brookings Iraq Index is "propaganda" that comes from U.S. government sources. It's a great resource, updated every month. No one's forcing you to follow it, but I find it very useful.
Does anyone else want me off the thread? Glad to oblige.
No, don't leave the thread.
You are politely debating a losing position, but are civil as I am trying to be.
Most liberals would have been banned by now.
Maybe you are one of the few that are smart but terribly misguided.
Address post# 70 please.
So... Because you cannot agree with verifiable and accurate data, you insist that it is "propoganda". Free Republic's business is about TRUTH. What is your business here?
Yes, it "comes" from government data sources. Which is not to say the analysis is fair and accurate. By leaving other government data sources out, it's quite possible to use only official government data sources and slant things any way you wanted.
The bottom line is terrorists are being killed in droves, and not one but two huge Middle Eastern anarchistic, barbarous and dangerous countries are being converted to democracies and stability in what, 3-4 years? That is an unprecedented achievement. We lost 2500+ in Afghanistan and Iraq. We're sad but proud, just as those who died would want us to be. They did this so no more Americans would have to die in skyscrapers and airplanes. They have paid the price but won the goal.
Ask most troops what they think about Bush and Rumsfeld and I'd say their approval ratings would be in the high 70s.
I vote for you to leave.
So are you Rick Perlstein of the Voice...or is that urban legend?
You have not supported your assertion in your first sentence. Therefore, I am free to believe that your last thought rises from the fact that you happen to personally agree with the slant offered by the source.
As a professional historian, do you often weigh the worth of a source based on whether or not the source agrees with your opinions? Somehow, I think you do -- so as a historian, your own worth is questionable.
