Unlike many here I do not have a hatred towards the Mexican people. The Mexican government is another story however. I can not blame a man for wanting to better himself and care for his family. All of my Mexican friends are hard working people.

I do not support anyone bettering themselves using my funds.

""No, the Republican's will NOT build it when it costs them some votes!

They will be out of office and the Lib's will welcome their newfound voting base with open arms."

That means we have already lost.

are you ready for a war with Mexico?

Yes. If nothing else, call up the militia as spoken of in the Constitution and described by several writers in the Federalist Papers.

Well tell me are you ready for a war with Mexico? If you call them on it thats what it would be. I am not saying we shouldn't call them on it, just stating consequences.

A shooting war? Only as the very last resort. Mexico knows that if we call them on it they will have to back off. But if it comes to a shooting war, then we have to do whatever is necessary to protect and defend our nation and its sovereignty. If we allow incursions then we don't really have a border. If we don't have a border then we are not really a sovereign nation. The Constitution does not give any options here, Article IV Section 4 clearly outlines the duty of the government to protect us from invasion. The oath of office all of our elected officials take clearly demands that they defend our nation. Neither allows the government an out if it comes to a shooting war or if the right lobbyists have them in their pockets.

Not sure if we are ready for a war with Mexico or not but this I do believe. We will be at war with Mexicans before very many years pass. With 10, 12 or 15 million illegals already here and more coming everyday, I can't help but believe that the illegals will attempt to take over small communities and then branch out. American citizens are going to be in a real war with them before long. With the present mindset of the Federal and most State governments it is doubtful we will get much help from them. Mexico isn't going to invade us. They already have.

And when the assymetric warfare starts and we're dealing with terrorist insurgents we have up to 20 million enemy forces already forward deployed inside our own borders. Those derelict in their duties who have allowed this to happen should be brought up on charges. Those who continue to allow this should also be brought up on charges.

I have no "hatred" toward those who come from the nation of Mexico any more than I "hate" the French. If you're implying that those who wish our border to be properly secured and defended are somehow racist, then you are an idiot. First, it has nothing to do with race. Second, Mexican is not a race any more than French is a race.

I can not blame a man for wanting to better himself and care for his family.

So, if a bank robber only needs the money to "better himself and care for his family" then it is OK with you for him to rob banks?

if you don't enforce it from the begining kind of hard to tell someone 10 years later he can't do what he's been doing.

Yup. We better leave those serial rapists alone too. < /sarcasm >

Any foriegner that has a little bit of cash can get into this country a lot easier than walking through the desert.

Not true. While I see 1 million invaders a year stream through Cochise County, Arizona where I live, I also have friends who immigrated from European or Asian nations and it took them YEARS and a great deal of money to immigrate. They are particularly angry about the invasion because it is so damned unfair that they chose to obey the law it is was so difficult and expensive for them to immigrate while, if they chose to engage in criminal activity they could have just walked across. I have friend who lives 1 mile from the border itself. While he sees a million or so illegally cross that border every year it took him a long time and a lot of money to get his fiance from Kazakhstan into the country so that they could get married. She could have simply flown to Sonora, taken a bus to a border town, hired one of the thousands of taxis to the border right across from his house, and just walked down the road to his house. But they chose to obey the law. You're wrong.

If you will scroll up to the top of the thread, you will see that the article is about drugs entering the US from Mexico. For some reason, you equate that with illegal immigration?

The point is that our border is not secure. Whether it is drug trafficking, human trafficking, or terrorists crossing our borders with WMDs is immaterial. The border needs to be secured. Anything less is surrendering our sovereignty and nationhood.

Doughty One: I'd wager you and fellow Freepers already put these up but I didn't have the time to read through this whole forum.

Eastforker: Our border has never been "open" but it has always been porous. No nation worthy of the term has open borders, no matter how many speeches Bush makes to claim that's a normal thing. Our border is unusual because we acknowledge the rights of Indian tribes whose traditional territories happen to straddle national boundaries free access. The tribes pay for that by picking up the tons of mess that the illegals leave, totally disrespecting the Indians most of them (the illegal alien Mexican invaders) share blood with.

When the invaders reach safe harbor, thanks to a network of sympathetic veteran invaders, they're sharing a home with multiple families or single pantejos and told where greedy and traitorous Americans line up to hire them. They're also given a rough training outline describing how to get by our law enforcement, getting multiple false documentation, how to job our welfare system for maximum benefits, how to use Wells Fargo/Bank of America/Western Union to transfer much of their earnings back to their families and, finally, how to get The Dish installed so they never have to learn English and can remain immersed in Mexican culture and mindset. America...wot a country!

While you know hard-working Mexicans and Americans of Mexican descent, do you discern the difference between illegal aliens and legal immigrants? Illegal aliens are line-jumpers and their presence has corrupted all levels of our society to the point where supposedly respected Congressmen are bought off by political contributors making huge money employing illegal aliens. Those bought-off Representatives pressure our local law enforcement to treat the illegals like a protected species while the illegals take advantage of that preferential treatment. Anyone who objects gets the "race card" thrown in their face (with maximum media support) despite the fact that Mexicans, "Latinos" nor "Hispanics" are a race. They are all some amalgam of American continent Indians and Spaniards, with some African input. The United States has always been behind "mutts" and values the contributions of individuals over their happenstance origins. Organizations working to bring our nation down (La Raza, ANSWER, ACLU, LULAC, MecHa, etc.) will always strive to decieve us by screaming that any opposition to the societal shifts happening is based on prejudice and hatred.

I say that they have an agenda to replace those of us that love and respect America (and it's citizen contribution framework) with a corrupt socialist ideal that exemplifies intolerance and bigotry in the extreme.

They're wiping their muddy and bloody feet on our flag and laughing about how so many Americans are letting them do it. They're draining our infrastucture (your tax money) while doing it. They need to be made to deport themselves by Congressional crackdown via passing the strong House Bill now awaiting the Senate's action. Kennedy and McCain will do their worst to attach a Temporary Worker admittance to it but those shills know that nothing's more permanent than a temporary worker (just ask Europe). They'll also try to shove in a measure to allow "extended families". Do you know how extended families are in "Latino" culture? Call, email and fax your Senators to tell them that the House Bill on Immigration Reform must pass as is.

I need everyone's help in this case because I've got my own work cut out working on my own Senator Bill Frist.

It was more formal then. Mexico claimed up to the Nueces River and was harrassing ranchers in that 50 mile wide strip.
