Protests prove cartoonist was right

From Michelle Malkin this morning:

Lost Budgie points to an interesting admission in today's Globe and Mail:

“The protests in the Middle East have proven that the cartoonist was right,” said Tarek Fatah, a director of the Muslim Canadian Congress. “It's falling straight into that trap of being depicted as a violent people and proving the point that, yes, we are.”

The aforementioned Tarek Fatah deserves half of a brownie point for lucidity.

Too bad we can't put that lucidity in a bottle and sprinkle it on the Muslim masses.

Thanks!

This feedback on that page says it all (imo):

Feedback:

Reader David S...

By threatening to kill those who insult them, the terrorists are demonstrating the vicious reality behind the caricature of Mohammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban better than any cartoonist ever could.

Reader Mike W...

Buy Legos. Lots and lots of Legos. Especially the Mindstorm programmable robotics kits. Danish company and non-fattening.

Reader Fritz R...

The utter hypocrisy is that Muslim countries regularly lampoon Christians and Jews in their comics while demanding the west refrain from any criticism of Islam.

By a large majority Americans Americans believe that desecrating the flag should be a crime, and it seems to me that one believes that "disrespect" is a crime it's a greater crime to to disrespect someone's God than to disrespect their flag.

Their masses are numerous, and here you have only one lucid guy - not nearly enough for sprinkling.

Their hatred for these simple cartoons will ultimately shed the veil of "peaceful" islam for all to see. I really wish I would have known that it was going to be this easy to do..lucky b@stards.

True but american have see Jesus Christ as a drunk, gay, abuser whose religious symbols are put into glasses of urine and told to shut-up because their tax dollars will be used in the word of art.

We will care little until ours is respected.

You might have a point, but with a proviso: desecrating the flag should be a crime - but within US boundaries, and not in some newspaper in faraway land.

However, our flag is burned and otherwise desecrated on a regular basis, not only that, but so is Christianity- the big difference here is that we're not rising up in protest and demanding that x locale be blown up in retaliation, as some Muslim clerics are doing.

While many Americans do believe that desecrating the flag should be a crime, when we see an Arab do it we don't fan out like gangs and start kidnapping Arabs, starting riots, storming their countries embassies, demanding the person be punished, and demanding apologies from the countries government. Nor do we take to murdering innocents because we are outraged.

Far to many muslims are murderous, rioting animals who are not compatable with civilized society.

Just once I would like to see peaceful muslims rise up and crush the extremists in their midst to rid their religion of such debris.

Some guy on talk radio last night was going off about the concept of evil vs evil and crazy. It was pretty spot on. The last guy that was evil and crazy had to be AH. It's been 60 years but the new menace of militant Islam is going to give him a run for his money. He said comparing Islam with something like Communism, which he classifies as simply evil, yields the result that evil and crazy is indeed the stuff of disasterous events in human history. We should fully expect the evil and crazy religious/governments over there to use WMD's, stand back and take the punishment without concern for the consequences. That's scary.

He went on the say how countries like the USSR, China and India were hip deep in deals with Iran because Iran has the cash to buy them off. He likened it to a man engaged in sex with a whore. Close your eyes and the sex is great. But it's still immoral. This is a mess.

Um, the demographics are such that the moderates are happy the militants have something to do because the militants are young people and young people are the demographic in control in the ME and other muslim countries. They still see reproduction as a duty to the state/religion.

Our institutions are government.

Theirs is the Koran.

So they are being just as derogatory to our way of life when they denigrate our governments as we are when we denigrate their religion.Because it's more of a social/political/military doctrine than a religion ergo it's a government.
