Good read. It's hard for some women to take that first step away. Many times they feel bad for being beaten.

I had a Bible school professor who used to do this as well. I had some hair raising stories. It can be very dangerous because the pimps would come after those who were trying to rescue these women out of these terrible situations. Gotta respect people who help others to this degree.

Wow saving humans others would rather forget about or use as objects in a non humane way.
Not a safe rescue mission either.
May the Angels watch over these two and may they allow th Holy Spirit to guide them.

God bless these wonderful people!! May their ministry continue to grow and rescue more and more.

Awesome article. I'm not ashamed to admit my screen got blurry while reading it.

Hookers and strippers, it turns out, have real names, like Mardina, Melinda, Gail, Cindy, Krissy, Jennifer.Bears repeating.
Excellent article. It's much easier to condemn these people than to try to help them.

"The way you can tell they're a prostitute," Mrs. Wiley says, "is if they don't have a purse." He better start looking for better key identifying features. I, like most other guys, don't carry a purse.

I grew up in the neighborhood they were riding in. That was a long time ago. Things have changed. Thank God for people like them who are making a difference. They do it without asking for any state or federal funding. Just good old fashioned Christian people doing what they think will help.
Thanks for posting.

"They rescue women from topless dancing and prostitution and teach them how to find good work, how to save money, how to live"
My friend's son is engaged to be married to an exotic dancer. She is 22, owns two houses and two expensive cars, and a considerable investments. She owns guns and likes to shoot. She brought cookies and homemade snacks to him while he worked at construction sites. Their future looks pretty bright.
Another dancer that another friend met told him about having someone hit her car. She only had it insured for liability, but she wasn't worried. She said she only had to go to Las Vegas to work for a week dancing, and she would make the $5K to fix it. She said she could make up to $2k in a night if the big rollers were tipping.
Some women do very well, know how to handle and save money, and some are dependent addicts who always expect to be taken advantage of.

I work on "Ho Alley" on Lamar Avenue. It's an artery for the truckers to get on I-40 from Mississippi. I've been in the drive through line a Burger King and the working girls will approach you. No policing of it here.

They rescue women from topless dancing and prostitution and teach them how to find good work, how to save money, how to live. Great, more busybodies meddling in the affairs of adult women.
Did it ever occur to them that most of these women are doing this voluntarily and make more money than if they worked regular 9-5s?
Many have tried to regulate supply-and-demand. All, of course, have failed.

This is the highest form of ministry....these people are willing to risk their very lives to help those enslaved by an industry that hates them and the people who feed on it. If others can't see that the porn and sex industry is not one of the single greatest agents of harm in our world then they are simply blind.

Awesome, my wife and I were involved with a ministry called Safehouse run by Al Palmquist. We would get guys and girls off the street and bus or fly them to a different state and put them in "safehouses" and minister to them. 90% effective rate. We stopped after having our first child. Being chased and threatened by pimps was an everyday occurance.

"The way you can tell they're a prostitute," Mrs. Wiley says, "is if they don't have a purse." I didn't know that. I would have figured they would have in their purses whatever tools are needed in their trade, like credit card readers or something.
