Ping!
Wow. I can't believe this, even for a socialist, liberal bastion such as Madison. Oh, wait...I guess I can.
Man, those Latin American history professors know everything. /sarc
Yeah, let's ignore the poor suckers in Venezuela that are financing your socialist promotion with their own sweat.
"Your Seat of Government" Ping! :)
"George Twigg, spokesperson for Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, said economic issues of such a policy would have to be considered over political ones.
'If its something that makes sense financially and legally, then well take a look at it,' Twigg said.
Ald. Austin King, District 8, is a major proponent of such a deal."
These three are usually the "players" in any socialist matter in Madistan. The Smoking Ban, mandatory paid sick days for people that work 12 hours a week, a mandatory Minimum Wage...and Mayor Dave's drug-induced pipe dream of sparkly, shiney streetcars rushing up and down State Street, just like his "Shining City on a Hill," Seattle, because in his stupor, that's where he thinks he lives. We've been throwing money down the Rat Hole of Madison Metro for decades. Even back when it was a PRIVATELY OWNED BUSINESS, the city was bailing it out. Not to mention the FREE rides that city workers, or hospital workers and low income people can have for the asking. Yep. A bus filled with non-paying riders fills the gas tank! Yeesh!
Face it, Mayor Dave. Not many around here WANT to ride the bus. If they did, it would be a SUCCESSFUL venture in and of itself. Ever hear of The Free Market? Didn't think so. *Rolleyes* Quit forcing people into your socialist dreamworld. We're busy & productive people with services to provide and money to make and no time to waste hanging around a graffiti-filled bus shelter. Who do you think pays your salary? The slackers on the dole? Double-Yeesh!
He also skipped the "Conference of Mayors" this year because they aren't leftist enough group for him! *Smirk*
So, even CONSIDERING to buy gasoline on the cheap and under the table from a Communist Dictator is absolutely the right thing to do in the minds of these three lunatics.
(Good catch, Thunder90!)
