So we need to take our system of government as a true basis of American livelihood and chuck it?

Well, our system does not seem to be responding to the needs and wishes of the people so much anymore, does it?
Afetr all, our "leaders" are supposed to be there as delegates, to convey our thoughts and wishes, and to act upon them. What are we to do when that is no longer the case? Our gov't is run by spolied elitists.
