85 percent of citizens favor continuation of nuclear activities
Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA Iran-Nuclear-Poll
Some 85.4 percent of Iranian citizens believe the best choice for Iran's nuclear case under present circumstances is continuation of nuclear activities, according the results of the latest opinion poll.
The polling, conducted by Iranian Students Polling Agency (ISPA), indicates that only 12.7 percent of those polled called for Iran to show flexibility.
The poll, conducted from January 29-30, involved 1,019 samples aged above 18.
Some 74.3 percent of the citizens also called for expansion of nuclear technology even in case of referral of Iran's nuclear case to the UN Security Council.
Asked to what extent they considered the need for access to nuclear technology, the poll results showed more than 80 percent considering the need for access to nuclear energy as much and too much while only four percent considered it as less important.
Some 70 percent of the citizens also viewed the attitude of European states towards Iran's nuclear case 'illogical'.
Furthermore, 38.1 percent of the people were 'much' or 'very much' interested in following up the nuclear energy related reports, while 23.5 percent were 'little' and 'very little' interested in doing so.
Some 28.1 percent were willing to follow the case at an average level.
Those are the 85% that are going to become radioactive.
And 98% of Israelis say 'no you don't'.
I think I've got the solution. Tell the Iranians that the nuclear facilties are actually being used to draw cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammed. They'll take them out for us.
Curious how the poll was conducted.
Iran has no non-weaponization reason for nukes --- it has no native or easy supply of uranium, while it sits on a huge supply of natural gas that has little non-domestic market (although they are working on that).
Wind and solar power (almost the whole country is a darn windy desrt) makes more sence than nuclear.
Economically, nukes are a loser for electricty with all that, unless it just really, really desires to import the fuel to run its country.
It such a laughable facade.
So much for getting them to uprise and revolt against the current regime.
For that matter the entire muslim world is using the cartoon front as a common unification of the various islamic factions.
I didn't see a margin of error on that poll.
Hey, wait a sec! What about all of those zillions of Iranians who are our friends? Hmmmm?
LOL ! Can't help but feel this poll is useless!
Do you favor continued nuclear activities even if it results in the demise of Iran and Islam across the world?
Apparently, 85% of Iranians would also like to glow in the dark.
I see dead people.
1) You can't believe any "polling" of people who do not have the freedom to answer honestly, and 2) if it is true, that would indicate an 85% reduction in collateral damage when the nuclear program is "terminated".
The other 14.6% are spending the next 15 years in prison.
Remember, Saddam always got 100% of the vote in Iraq!
Dissent in Iran has serious consquences.
If true, then less tears may be shed when they bear the brunt of a full nuclear retaliation.
ABC/cnn POLL?
Of course, it goes without saying that in Iran it is illegal to even have a view without first having sworn allegiance to the Cult of Satan popularly referred to as Islam.
