"I prefer mass caricature to mass censorship." With these words French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy boldly stated the case for western liberal pluralism over eastern theocratic tyranny. The current overkill of "outrage" by Moslems protesting the cartoons of Mohammed published in a Danish newspaper not only brings into stark relief the clash of civilizations we are engaged in, but also underlines the degree of lies and manipulations to which radical Moslem leaders will go in order to incite violence.

I am beginning to think this "cartoon war" is a "recruitment" ploy more than anything else.

...not only brings into stark relief the clash of civilizations we are engaged in, but also underlines the degree of lies and manipulations to which radical Moslem leaders will go in order to incite violence. Can't be repeated too often.
But then, I have known that since around 1965...

The cartoon war is an attempt to intimidate the infidels into a more deferential state. They want to create an environment where nobody feels safe in speaking out against Islam

"When Moslems say you are not showing respect, I would say: you are not asking for my respect, you are asking for my submission." Bingo!
And they are not going to get it.

Why is Canada's first reaction that these people are owed something, and there second is to defend why it's not Canada's place to deliver whatever is owed?
My first reaction is "get a grip!"

They want to create an environment where nobody feels safe in speaking out against Islam Certainly agree, but angry Muslims mobs being ginned up by fanatical Imams can bring in the cannon fodder for the war on the west.
I guess that cartoon about running out of virgins might be hitting a little close to home.

The world turns, humanity progresses and evolves mindfully, and then the thorn of Muslim fanantic reasoning places a "monkey wrench" into a cog of the wheel of human progression.
Let's be compassionate to every minor concern of Muslims when it comes to a majority of worldwide acceptance to freedom of expression without anticipating mayhem, death and destruction because of it.
After all, we are able to understand the concerns of our household pets and cater to them because of our ability to show compassion for those who lack understanding of the human way.

Roger Hedgecock on on Rush said a firm in England makes Mohammed blow-up sex dolls! Any link to this?
Pretty soon we can have a whole catalog of Mohammed accessories for the Muslim world to do their usual workout with:)

And instead (not unlike 9/11) they just ticked everybody off and reminded everyone why these people can't be appeased. Suck up to them now, and they'll want to run your life....and you won't like how they want to run it.
Good job fellas. You just did a better job at reminding everyone better in one week why the war on terror is serious than George Bush could do in a year. Bravo!
