I was in a noisy sports bar last night and couldn't hear what the reaction was to the Danish athletes in the openning ceremony. Anyone can tell me what happened, if anything?

Well since the events are going to happen before they are broadcast it will allow us to discuss as results come in with a warning to those who can some how avoid to find out the results with the internet.

They didn't call the Greek Olympics the Games in Athena.
To: alisasny
The most interessting thing I've heard about the Olympics in some time was a piece done by Niel Cavuto yesterday.
Home Depot sponsors a rigorous support program for it's employee athletes and has 33 competetors in this year's games.
I can't remember everything I heard but, I believe they stated that HD athletes have collected more medals than France and would be placed in 16th amongst competing nations.
(they also have a larger gross national product than France -LOL).

The men's speed skating 5000m final is going on right now. I've been keeping
this page up and hitting refresh to see the results. So far, Belgium's Veldkamp is out in front but no USA skaters have skated yet.

Was it our imagination or was that the lamest, most incomprehensible opening ceremony in Olympic history? My kids and I were laughing hysterically at all the people squirming in spandex and clumping around on gigantic skis.

Breaking News from AP: Michelle Kwan may pull out of the Olympics because of a sore groin. Apparently the long flight and marching in the opening ceremonies reaggravated her injury.
Kwan says she may withdraw if not healthy
AP seems to have really good coverage of the Olympics. The local Salt Lake City newspaper is linking to it. AP coverage of Winter Olympics
