The GOP is seeing the first signs that it's made some nicks in Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's political armor in a new poll that shows her support dropping dramatically.
RasmussenReports.com surveyed Clinton's presidential hopes every two weeks over the last year.....found that support for her presidential ambitions has hit rock bottom............
Now just 27 percent say they'd definitely vote for her down seven points from the start of the year and 43 percent say there's no way they'd cast a ballot for her, an eight-point uptick in the past month.
Pollster Scott Rasmussen, who accurately forecast the outcome of the 2004 White House race, said Clinton's support has plummeted among men and party faithful.
This poll is the latest in a trend of weakening support for her White House hopes. She now has a 47 percent unfavorable rating, and 45 percent of respondents say she's a political liberal.
Those are the two key points GOP strategists are aiming to expand in the eyes of voters in America's heartland the Midwestern states that will likely swing the election in 2008.
"As 2008 gets closer, she'll have to go to the left to win. We'll try to roll her further in that direction," one GOPer told The Post. "She's been talking moderate, but she has a liberal voting record and we'll point that out and why she's trying to hide from it."

Exactly. This is all part of their game plan. She more than Bill lives for one thing -- power. I don't recall similar polls (never vote for Bush, et) in the past. Hillary will be the democrat nominee and she and her fascists allies in the media will pull all the stops to make her the savior of this country. Bill will be a major part of her campaign. People will be deluded into thinking they will get Bill V2.0. The leftists will commit fraud on a massive scale. I believe that pushing a 3rd party option, ala McCain, will be part of their strategy. I'd rather see anyone besides Hillary on the left nominated -- they would be easier to dictate. Remember most Americans are about 1/100th as informed as Freepers. They can easily be led. I find it quite bothersome that so many see to welcome her as an opponent.
should read, they would be easier to defeat....
In trying to be honest about this, and overlooking my sincere opinion that HRC is just about the most evil woman in politics today, it does well to look at what she would face. It is one thing to hypothetically suppose that HRC could be a president for American people. It is quite another to consider HRC as anything close to an effective international leader in the view of regimes and cultures whose views on women are that they are inconsequential at best, and worthless at most: the Chinese, Islam, and many African nations.
True. No one following Bush is going to have a bed of roses internationally or domestically, but we get the leaders God needs us to have. If she is elected, by hook or by crook, then we shall deserve what she is, and God help us.

Can anyone post that wonderful .wav file of her shrieking, "I am sick and tired of people questioning my patriotism...!"
..you have nailed it...
I agree with you totally. Hillary's biggest opponent in 2008 won't be the Republican candidate, it will be Bill Clinton himself.
Ironic, isn't it. Bill Clinton won in '92 with 43% of the vote (and, irrelevant but coincidental, our current president is No. 43). Just keep chipping away at that chink in the armor. Wouldn't want her to be the Comeback Kid Pig.
Right you are and your statement brings to mind the near saturation coverage the media has given to debates between Dem presidential hopefuls. These debates were covered endlessly. There's no way the media would have done this for Republican candidates. The MSM can always be counted on to lend their full support and resources to liberals.
Sorry, you are preaching to the choir ;-) I knew that HRC was all pretense long ago

She still has a re-election campaign for 2006. However that turns out, and I assume she will win, she will start with a clean slate afterwards as far as 2008 is concerned. The 'rats showed in 2004 that they will nominate virtually anybody if they think he/she can win. If she wins convincingly this fall then she will be an attractive candidate for the 'rats in '08. If she gets a scare this Fall, then all bets are off. If she loses then of course she is history.
Think Bobby Kennedy. Brother of a president, moved to NY, ran for the Senate and won. If he had not been shot in 1968 he would have been elected president hands down.
Hillary thought she could do a reprise of Bobby. The jury is still out. She's no Bobby but it's a long way to 2008 and things can happen to make her seem far more plausible than she does today.
Likeable as long as he's not raping you, I guess.

I'd say that if the Republicans were smart, they would head this thing off this year by giving McCain the top Senate spot as Majority Leader in agreement NOT to run for the Presidency - I could live with that and he would then NOT be a threat for 2008. He seems to be able to work with democrats on the hill which, whether you hate them or not must be done in order to get stuff passed. And this would give him the tv time he loves by being majority leader.
