Four years pass, Milosevic still on trial

(CNN) -- The war crimes trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic enters its fifth tedious year Sunday, and though international interest in the tribunal has waned, it has proved a useful tool in educating Serbs.

"Its greatest reverberation is in Serbia itself," where regional media have brought the crimes to center stage by airing and reporting on the proceedings, said Edgar Chen of the Coalition for International Justice, a group that supports war crimes tribunals.

Milosevic is charged with genocide and crimes against humanity in last decade's bloody Balkans conflict, and for four years, he has dragged out judicial proceedings with his political grandstanding and health-related absences.

The U.N. Security Council established the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in 1993, and Milosevic was charged with 66 counts involving war crimes during the Balkan wars.

The Nuremberg experience shows that it's possible to conduct War Crimes trials fairly and expeditiously. I wonder why those lessons have been forgotten.

Because Slobo is not a war criminal.

If we put a Gore, a Kerry, or a Clinton in the White House, we will be signing up our soldiers and Marines for this crap. How would you like to see a young PFC standing before one of these kangaroo courts for "flushing" a koran or some other such nonsense. After all, we have to pass the "global test."

Because Slobo is not a war criminal.

Several of the Nuremberg defendants were aquitted. A properly conducted trial would have ended three years ago and Milosevic would have been freed if your judgment is correct.

Absolutely, spot on correct. It's why we must never again elect a Democrat to the White House.

For the same reason it takes 25 years to execute a mass murderer on death row.

I don't see where we get off being sanctimonious about these glacial proceedings with Milosevic. After all, it has been over four years and our very own Zacarias Moussaoui is still on trial - and he is an admitted Al Qaeda terrorist, even screaming it out in Court!

The problem is, these proceedings are all lawyers, all the time. We don't get justice, we get talk. And it's all very highly paid talk to boot!

<< The Nuremberg experience shows that it's possible to conduct War Crimes trials fairly and expeditiously. >>

With Russian "judges," many of them guilty of far worse crimes than those charged, sitting on the bench, the Nuremberg "trials," even had they been those, rather than the political actions they, in fact, were, may have been expeditiously conducted and in the execution of their sentences. But they were "fair" only in that they achieved their predetermined outcome.

For which there is much to be said.

The idea is obscene that Saddam, for example, should enjoy the presumption of innocence and makes mockery of his perhaps two million Iraqi, Iranian, Israeli, Kuwaiti and other victims.

As obscene, that is, as is the suggestion that the political activity being conducted around and to President Milocevic in any way resembles a "trial," its venue a "court" -- or that by way of which its proponents purport to legitimize their silly circus, "Law."

I dislike the idea that Milosevic`s name stand with Saddam`s.

Saddam is a creature of darkness that can be compared only to dark-ages monsters and Spanish Inquisition looks like liberal activist group comparing to his evil deeds. man tortured, killed, orderem mass ezecutions, usage of gas on civile population, tried to build mass-destruction weapons, and a first man who actualy used mass-destruction weapons after WWII, a gas attack.

Milosevic can be held at worst case as a not-so-nice-guy, and comparing that he was Balkan politician, he actualy looks rather good.
Worst thing that is put on his sould is project of "Great Serbia", a accusation written by ICTY prosecution od several hundreds of pages, accusing lines of Serbian politicians from 1800s to 21st century. It is actualy of Serb-intended :"Protocol of Sions", same rasist crap in which Jews were accused and prosecuted for hundreds of years, today "Greater Serbia" concept is made-up for anti-serbism.
Actualy, liberals needed someone to blame on evrything they did stupid.

european ruling classes and politicians needed in past centuries something to put blame and divert public anger from their failiure on Jews, and europeans in 1990es tried to do same to Serbs. They need Scapegoat.

>>>>>>Because the US ran Nuremberg; the UN is running Saadam's and Milosevic's.<<<<<<

Legal circus in The Hague is an act of historical revisionism of Nuremberg legal legacy. It actually vindicates Hitler. Albanians, Croats and Bosnian Muslims were Hitler's allies, Serbs were Hitler's enemies. They got independent states ofd their own, per Hitler's design.Today, Hitler's dream in the Balkans has been fulfilled and The Hague circus is one of the instruments.

The Hague circus is an antithesis of Nuremberg trials. Guilty of the penultimate crime, the crime of agression were NOT indicted. The ones guilty of the more horendous crimes walked free.

If you need historical paralell, ICTY is similar to Stalin's purges. Arrest first and then manufactuyre the "evidence"

The only difference, Stalin bankrolled his own circus and ICTY is bankrolled by U.S. ($1B and counting), Malesia and Saudi Arabia.

This ICTY scam would be Illegal on U.S. soil.

What nerve. He presumed to mount his own defense and dares to have health problems.

....it has proved a useful tool in educating [sic!] Serbs.

Yeah, right! It has proved a "useful tool" for sapping the morale of the Serbian nation, making them feel that the the guilt heaped upon them by their demonizers is justified, and getting them ready for assimilation by the international fascist EU.

In reality, the Serbs' resistance to the international fascist New World Order and to the international jihad is noble, and serves as a beacon of freedom to us all!!!!

NWO operatives and "human rightsers" like Edgar Chen want to "educate" us here at home as well. They want to make us feel guilty for resisting the demonic attack of the filthy and disgusting "gays" and the feminazis on the very bedrock of human civilization, and for even publishing a few cartoons that might "offend" the islamist fifth columnists among us, and their world jihadist terorist allies. They also want to charge us with "hate crimes" and take us to court and to prison for resisting the vicious NWO/feminazi/jihadist tide.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: Either America flushes the "human rightsers" down the toilet, or America goes down the toilet!!!! Free Slobo, abolish ICTY and ICC, and flush the "human rightsers" down the drain!!!!

In the NWO for some reason it is necessary to convince the victims about their guilt, to persuade them that 2 and 2 equals 5 and to make them to love Big Brother. As George Orwell described in 1984.

Everyone involved will die of old age before any verdict is rendered in this farce.

Anybody who thinks the "international community" should be in charge of anything should be reminded of a.) this trial and b.) "refugee camps" on the West Bank, which have celebrated their Golden Jubilee.

On the other hand, it means lifetime jobs for the lawyers, judges, administrators and other hangers-on at the ICJ and the UN...without ever really having to do anything. About anything...

Was watching a show the other night about Serbia.

The interviewer asked a choir director (can't remember the context) if he was a Christian. The man got a frightened look on his face and said that is a political question, and he would not answer it on record.

This is what NATO brought us.

Yup, even after Theo vanGogh, 7/7, the French car-baques, and the cartoon war, the Euroweenies are still trying to feed Milosevic to the Muslim crocodile in hopes of being eaten last.

Of course, it's not like Bush got it, that Islam is our enemy, and changed course in the Balkans either.
