U.S. gives Mexico millions for security
The Washington Times ^ | February 13, 2006 | Jerry Seper

Posted on 02/12/2006 11:54:11 PM PST by RouxStir

The U.S. government has sent more than $376 million to Mexico in the past decade for that country's military and police to help stop alien and drug smugglers, guard against terrorists and protect America's southern border, including $50 million due this year. The money, quietly authorized through State and Defense department programs, has been used to train and equip the Mexican military and police, drawing disagreement on whether those institutions are part of the solution for U.S. border security, or are part of the problem.

Agreed. We are better, and the U.N. is throughly useless. I wonder who much of our government money actually makes it into the hands of Aids victims, Tsunami victims, or North Koreans? Are we feeding the monster? The Christian Children's people get 80 cents on the dollar to the starving kids, I somehow doubt our govt is that efficient.

Truly, in this argument between the Congresscritter and the long-time Border Patrolman, I must agree with the Border Cop. After hearing one of the vehicles used in a recent "incursion" described as a HUMVEE, it became pretty clear to me that our money was being misspent.

376 million dollars to Mexico and $11.00 of it actually went to security, the rest went to graft payola and corruption.
Mexico, what a corrupt craphole.

37 million a year for ten years is not a lot.

But, what has it bought? More illegals and a govt. that thumbs its nose at our sovereignty.

I don't get it. Mexico treats us like dirt and you stick up for sending more money into that cesspool.

Have you noticed how afraid of the illegals the DMV is in the states you mentioned? The DMV has said in these states the problem can't be controlled. This leads me to believe there is much more here than meets the eye.

Don't let em fool ya, Mexico is not a poor country either and can afford to do this on its own if it wanted to.
There is absolutely NO reason to be sending our money to Mexico, other than the fact that Mexico refuses to spend its own money to police the borders.

37 million a year for ten years is not a lot.

So say you. And if giving it is unconstitutional, does it matter that its "not a lot"?

"We are addicted to Mexicans"

LOL! Brilliant!

I find it interesting that Bush says we're "Addicted to Oil", and Rush for years has said that Oil is the "Fuel of the Engine of Freedom".

Someone isn't in step here, and I want to see if Rush twists to the GWB line, or if Rush calls this OBL pultroon on his idiotic statement!

Well Done, but now you have attracted the attention of the "Cult of Bush" Arch-Mages here...so be prepared to be screeched at, and called DU Troll, and "unappeasable"!

Here's my contribution to your pic...
