Please take a moment to call the C-Span office to let them know you would like to see the Able Danger hearings today. The hearing starts at 2:30 eastern time today. It is not on their schedule and when I called C-Span they said they did not know if or when they would run the hearing. Then I called Congressman Weldon's office and they are baffled that C-Span is not running the hearing. I told Weldon's office I would put this thread up and hopefully enough people will call C-Span to encourage them to run the hearings live.

This mining operation was resisted to begin with because it did threaten the existing entrenched thinking within the agencies. For anyone interested, Robert Steele is probably the one guy most responsible for such open source ideas being explored and exploited. He gave talks at the Hope conferences - audio and video of which are available from www.2600.com under the "hope" entry on the top bar.

I will warn that the man's politics are from the other side of the isle; but, his expertise is amazing and the talks are well worth listening to if this sort of thing interests you. This is a long session and is in 5 parts.
The reason I offer these is that Mr. Steele outlines how opensource works, how it came about, the resistence to it, etc.
Hope this is useful. If you are intrigued with his talks, remember, he appeared at several of the Hope conferences and all his talks so far as I am aware are cataloged on the 2600 site.

There are lots of people within DC who don't want this information to come out because it will embarrass them that they did not stop 9/11 or stopped the program that could have stopped 9/11.

I've never seen resistance like this. Ever. It's frightening to think someone or a group have this kind of power. And disheartening.

The "date typo" (2-5 vs. 2-15) is mine. I renamed the file on my local machine before uploading it. The file is a copy of the stream delivered by the house.gov website. File size is 24.11 Mb and it contains 3:17 (hours:mins) of audio - a bit smaller than the pair of mp3 files in your collection, and contains the "dead air" at the start of the hearings.
Americaprd claims to have a copy of the chart that DIA produced. I told him (her?) to post it as an article today.
I also understand that there was more than one chart produced, and that the one behind Weldon in the hearing last September was not the one that Shaeffer claimed was suppressed.

who cares about headlines?...you mean people are waiting to see if the media will look favorably on these hearings?...then only then, will the people speak?...after the media tells them it's time to speak?...

These people need to hear. Enough of Cheney; the Demrats are playing this to the utmost; it serves them not to have this Administration move forward in any way. . .and serves them more; to try and keep media occupied from going to the truth of any matter where Demrats are in jeopardy.

There is certainly truth in what you offer. . .but I was really going to the point that most Americans do not even know about these hearing(s). . .or that C-span is NOT covering it. Do not know that they have reason to be upset (same for sales of city ports)
I missed yesterdays. . .and I am confused myself. . .was this a one-day hearing; some 'overt/covert' ie. 'hearings'; or is there more to come?
That's my question - what's next and when? Just one day and it's over?
He got my anonamous "freeper" email and whined on-air about not liking blogs or freepers and shrugged off these stories.
Pat Gray just lost my respect, he's rather continue to discuss Cheney non-story.
