I have no idea what is with the obsession thinking that the Republican nominee has to be the vice president. It's so stupid. The Republican nominee does NOT have to be the vice president. Nor is it likely to help any potential candidate if they become vice president now. I just can't fathom what would make anyone think it's necessary for the next Republican nominee to be vice president. Historically, it hasn't worked out very well. I don't know why people are obsessed with thinking we can't win if the Republican nominee isn't the vice president. It's just ridiculous and it's really aggravating me. Cheney IS NOT and SHOULD NOT go anywhere before January 2009.

I will agree with you that it is "stupid" to think that the Republican nominee has to be Vice President. However, it is surely helps. I firmly believe that people get comfortable with who they see in the White House and then will not want to change so quick. Logical - no. Reality - I believe so. Why else would Hollywood be so quick to put on a show about a woman President. They want the general public comfortable and seasoned to the idea.

Again for the record, I would vote for Cheney in a New York minute if he were running in 2008 and I do NOT think he should resign because of this silly manufactured scandal.
