NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Vice President Dick Cheney told Fox News Channel in an exclusive interview Wednesday afternoon that he believed he properly handled the disclosure of his involvement in a hunting accident in Texas last week.

Cheney accidentally shot a fellow hunter at a Texas ranch on Saturday while hunting quail. Harry Whittington, a 78-year-old lawyer, has been hospitalized in Corpus Christi ever since and suffered a mild heart attack Tuesday.

They said FOX never disclosed that Cheney said he had one beer at lunch!!! I believe I did hear FOX say that....anyone else?

They're lying. I learned that while watching the interview. I'll bet that Katie/Matt failed to disclose that it was one beer which was consumed hours before they went out hunting.

I thought that Brit actually asked some pretty hard questions.

Brit Hume will never be mistaken for Bonnie Parker nor Dick Cheney for Clyde Barrow. They both have a fondness for guns, alas poor Clyde died with his trusty BAR at his side while the VP continues to abide leaving the media with no choice but to be snide.

Hmmm...Let's see...Brit Hume or David Gregory? Gee, that's a tough decision.

No kidding. I'm sure the VP agonized over that one a long time.

"I heard that CNN kept referring to Fox as "another network" when reporting his interview."

Yesterday afternoon, ABC Radio (who host's Rush's show in Chicago) referred to it as an interview on a cable news network. No mention of "Fox" was given.

Smarmy bunch of a$$es, they.

Persnickety Jack Cafferty makes me want to laff-erty. It's beginning to look like Cafferty will never grow up.

Here's a link to a FR thread on his gratuitously nasty comments during Katrina's aftermath.

CNN: Is Bush Spending Too Much Time on the Disasters? Or Too Little?

Jack spends his time on mindless cavils like Bush's mileage during travels. But Jack could better use his craft if he measured Blanco's graft. Checking Nagin could be good ... and counting cops per N'Awlins 'hood.

" They said FOX never disclosed that Cheney said he had one beer at lunch!!! I believe I did hear FOX say that....anyone else?"

Cheney himself stated it in the interview last night. Brit Hume, this morning on Fox & Friends brought it up in his remarks with Brian Kilmead.

Since the ONLY interview has been with Fox News, how did Katie/Matt learn of it?

Seems to me, they have some 'splainin' to do.

"Wasn't the accident several hours after lunch? I don't remember if we have been told exactly when it happened...not that one beer would have caused any impairment."

Assuming that 'lunch' was around noon, that would leave 4-5 1/2 hours, as the incident happened around 5:30 p.m.

I bet you that there are less than 500,000 people in America that have heard about this idiot Jack Cafferty.

Jack has lost his way in the wilderness. According to CNN, once upon a time Jack co-anchored the evening broadcast for Fox 5 News at 7.

I am sure CNN is stunned, STUNNED, that they did not get this interview.

Maybe CNN can air the Al Jazeera version of the interview.

Someone needs to ask all these self important so called journalists why the way Chenery handled this was so bad?

Through the way it was handled they received accurate information from a first hand source.

The victim was able to get medical care and get to the hospital without concerns of the media getting in the way.

The family was able to be notified before the media circus of misinformation began.

The public received accurate information. The slight delay allowed the police and game warden to do their jobs unimpeded by reporters and allowed a release of the accident report to the press and public not long after the incident was being reported upon.

It appears that the way it was handled served the public well be getting them accurate information. It served the victim well by keeping the press out of the way until he could get medical treatment. It served the family well because they didn't have to suffer through hearing of the accident from inaccurate media reports, but were able to be contacted with the facts first.

I think Cheney and the others directly involved handled this well.

I think the media has acted appallingly.

First the Corpus Christie Caller Times, 4 days of whining Gregories and Dem snips, then the FOXnews scoop with Brit ... geez no wonder the MSM panties are all in a bunch!

Gotta love Cheney's strategy.

Ok, why would I go to CNN who has 2 to 3 times LESS audience or MSNBC who has 3 to 4 times LESS audience than FoxNews?! I guess if he really did want to cover it up then he should go to them because he'd know nobody will see it!

CNN is NOT too late to get OTHER Interviews though!!!

" HARRY REID'S HEART ATTACK NOT REPORTED for THREE DAYS!!...."

http://www.foxnews.com/printer_frien...166277,00.html

WASHINGTON — The Senate Democratic leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, suffered a brief mini-stroke Tuesday, but doctors found no complications and he feels fine, aides said Friday (at an un-sceduled release. )

Asked why announcement of the event was delayed for three days, Hafen said, "The reason was the tests and the evaluations that they were doing. We wanted to make sure we knew what we were announcing. You need conclusive information."

WHY!!...Why!!! WHEN is Harry REID " Planning on stepping down ???..."
