I hate to get off topic in dealing with tangible issues here, but Killian's Red goes down smooth. At times like these it is nice to throw back a few cold ones while watching liberals fret.
They make for great election night celebrations.

Yes, I believe he has been correct more than not. Here's a link to some articles he's written for

I think that the biggest thing that this incident accomplished, is demonstrating just what tremendous hypocrites people in this forum can be.

Hey Thom, good to have the real deal back again. I know I've seen Luis around before but I don't really remember what stripes he wears...
While I've never shot anyone accidentally I did manage to shoot through my own shoe between the big toe and next with a .22 short...a bolt action single shot at age 9 when the bolt hung on the casing and I banged hell out of it...protecting the muzzle with my foot naturally...not feeling any pain I still remember not wanting to take off my boot.

He is surrounded by law enforcement that would not allow anyone to handle weapons drunk. I don't believe for a minute that Cheney was drunk.
But if the Vice President wanted to drink while he hunted, I honestly don't think the Secret Service would be able to stop him.
Again, this is a non-story.
To: Dr._Joseph_Warren
True, a non-story, especiallly after the interview with the guy who was shot leaving the hospital today.

If this was 1998 instead of 2005, if the shooter's name had been Gore instead of Cheney, if the victim's last name had been Soros instead of Whittington, and everything else remained the same, everyone in this forum would be screaming cover up.
I think that the biggest thing that this incident accomplished, is demonstrating just what tremendous hypocrites people in this forum can be.

Luis, your silly 'what if' bull about 1998 is sheer hypocrisy.
Both H'rup and I were here in '98, and "everyone in this forum" would NOT have been "screaming cover up".
I feel that H'rup & I [along with dozens of others] would have been calling for a rational review against the hypocrites of those days. [and there were a LOT of screaming clowns back then who hated guns & hunting - probably more then now.]

Well, the comment that Dick Morris said last night on "Hannity and Colmes" about the vice president was very wrong to say the lest. But his comment is nothing compared to what left-wing pinkos like Chirs Matthews have been saying. They are actually saying that the VP WAS drunk during his hunting trip last week. Dick Morris at least took back his comment about the VP "Sobering up."

Ditto. Nothing like a good brew to watch a liberal stew.

Your reply was simply re-stating my position...the only difference between conservatives and liberals, or between the majority of the people in this forum and the people in DU, is political affiliation.
We are no more concerned on propriety in government than they are, we are not concerned for accountability anymore than they are, we are not concerned with forthrightness any more than they are.
And when you come on this board and make comments critical of the actions of a member of the administration that may go against the grain of the comments being made by the majority, you are told that you neeed to leave.
Just like DU.
The only difference is that this site's owner does not walk to the same drumbeat that the DU ownership does.
Thank God for that.

Luis, when you come on this board and make unwarranted speculations about the actions of a member of the administration that go against the grain of the facts being posted by rational hunters, you were told that you may be a hypocrite.
Yet you continue to insist that the only difference between conservatives and liberals, or between the majority of the people in this forum and the people in DU, is political affiliation; -- this is not true.
Conservative hunters & gun owners are more concerned on propriety in government than the anti-hunting/gun DU socialists are, -- we are concerned for accountability more than they are, and we are concerned with forthrightness much more than they are.
Get a grip on your emotions.

The evidence is skimpy. However, Cheney said he'd had a couple of beers before going hunting. What does "a couple of beers" usually mean?
Is drinking a common prelude to hunting?
Also, Cheney did not go to the hospital with his injured friend. If I had shot someone, I would BE THERE for them. That would would seem to be the least one could do - unless, of course - I'd been drinking - maybe TOO MUCH. Then I'd hide until the alc. in my blood went down and take the PR consequences.
