It is undeniable that the out-of-control problem of illegal immigration has begun to threaten our American way of life. And yet none of our local, state, or federal government officials dare to engage this issue head on, even with the increasing violence on our U.S./Mexico border and the national media coverage illegal immigration now garners. Why, you might ask? Its simple: because no politician, from Mayor Villaraigosa to President Bush, wants to lose the vote of the electorate in support of illegal immigration. Its all about votes.
Our government representatives have betrayed those of us against illegal immigration in pandering to the minority by ignoring us. Therefore, we, the private citizenry, must stand up for what we believe is right and fair and beneficial to our great nation by putting anti-illegal immigration initiatives on the ballot through our collective vote. The consequences for not employing our democratic power are poignantly articulated in a speech that everyone should read given by former Colorado governor, Dick Lamm, in 2005 at an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington D.C. that articulated eight surefire ways to put America on the road to destruction.
One point highlighted in Lamms speech was that to make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated, and by adding a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population, that has a fifty-percent dropout rate from high school, would be to destroy our American identity. Literally, thousands of illegal aliens cross our borders everyday and never return to their country. And the majority of Liberals argue that these people are filling low-skill-level jobs that Americans dont want, continually pushing for allowing illegal aliens to be able to acquire driver licenses, free health-care, and education subsidized by our taxes.
What does it mean for the future of America, however, when this generation is called upon to fill high level jobs, such as technology, medical, engineering, and political, but there arent enough people to fill them because illegal aliens arent qualified and legal citizens simply couldnt get the proper education or training because they were squeezed out of every opportunity for government subsidies? The question forebodes some very alarming answers. The notion of multi-cultural equivalency and a bi-lingual country is poison to our traditional, American character and invites divisiveness rather than unity.
This country is made up of immigrants, yes, but history has shown that America is the most successful country in the world because those very immigrants adopted and upheld American fundamentals, such as democracy, capitalism, and our very language of communication to become one American body. If we continue going down this Socialist and destructive path where all government subsidies will go toward a dramatically growing number of illegal aliens, that same demographic will lack the innovation, education, and skills needed to sustain Americas first-world economy in the 21st Century.
Yeah...the sky is always falling!
A few minutes ago I saw a somewhat similar thread about a conference in DC but now I can't find it.
If you're accusing me of being chicken little, I'd say you're the "See No Evil" monkey.
Good points that need to be addressed.
But here's a synopsis on the Eight Steps To Destroy America
Which is why I am dead against the President's amnesty plan. How he can allow porous borders after 9/11 is absurd to the nth degree. There shouldn't even be a discussion because it's not an immigration problem as much as a national defense problem. If your borders are open, how can you say you are doing everything you can to combat terrorism? It's a lie the President continues to throw around, and I'm sick of it.
Thanks!
Quite a large number of self-proclaimed conservatives repeat this mantra as well.
That simple.
History will not be kind to Dubya Bush for this reason.
Many may say other Presidents (like Clinton) have permitted illegals to invade unimpeded, but after 9/11, it was irresponsible and wreckless with NO GOOD REASON NOT TO SECURE THE BORDER 100%.

If we don't solve this problem, none of the others matter
i'm starting to have grave concerns lately with the immigration issue, we're being overrun in n.j. & pulling us broke. i need to know why the prez. is not giving us an explanation on this & also the u.a.e. being approved to take over our main shipping ports. it's bad enough peanutbrain carter gave up control of the panama canal in the late nineties & is now being run by the chinese, (hutchinsons ) of hong kong, does anyone else share these concerns also.....
"Self-proclaimed conservatives" is the key phrase here...
More like delusional sycophantic boot-lickers.
Basically, most of our "Leaders" are Internationalists with no real fealty for this country.
Yes I do share those concerns!!!
Uproar over U.S. ports
The White House is obviously not listening to the congressional uproar over Dubai Ports World. Lawmakers want to know why a federal panel allowed a state-owned United Arab Emirates shipping firm to pay $6.8 billion to acquire six major American ports -- including critical ones in New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia -- despite its home country's glaring ties to international terrorism. But the White House is yawning.
The issue interrupted this week's House Ways and Means Committee hearings on the budget, and Treasury Secretary John Snow's non-answer -- he explained to curt questioning from Rep. Mark Foley, Florida Republican, that the Commission on Foreign Investment in the United States followed its regular processes -- simply won't cut it. Yesterday, Stewart Baker, an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security, asserted flatly that "We came to the conclusion that the transaction should not be halted." National Security Council spokesman Frederick Jones said that it was "rigorously reviewed." In other words, the White House considers it a done deal.
But why? Why must the United States let a state-owned firm from a hotbed of radicalism own the major ports of the Eastern seaboard? No one has answered this to our satisfaction. [Excerpt]
Jorge Arbusto is selling us all down the river for cheap labor.
Many people share these concerns. This country does not need more people, especially not those refusing to learn the language and demanding translators, welfare and other perks; criminals and terrorists; and the mentally unstable.
No, really? You think? (sarcasm)
