Cheney as Toast: Democrats Burning Down the House
The WAll Street Journal ^ | February 17, 2006 | DANIEL HENNINGER

Posted on 02/17/2006 7:39:20 AM PST by presidio9

Some say Dick Cheney is toast. He's too hot to handle, throw him over the side if he won't drop himself into the waves. Don't look now, but that isn't water surrounding the Bush ship of state. It's gasoline. The issue titled "Dick Cheney" is just one of many embers.

Have you ever noticed how on a scale of one to 10, every untoward event in the life of the Bush presidency goes straight to a 10?

The Abu Ghraib photos? A 10 forever. Dick Cheney catching a hunting buddy with some birdshot? An instant 10. The Bush National Guard story? Total 10. How can it be that each downside event in this presidency greets the public at this one, screeching level of outrage and denunciation by the out-of-power party and a perpetually outraged media?

I can think of only one rational answer to Cheney's question: something else happened and the current story is a cover-up.

You're right.

Harry Whittington actually died and the delay is so that Karl Rove can get the Whittington double's plastic surgery completed and the Whittington family's cover story planted.

Harry was going to go public and spill everything about the Bilderbergers, the Trilateral Commission and the whole lot of 'em.

What if, right after FR surfaced as a force in the Clinton impeachment period, a bunch of people signed up as democrat sympathizers and stayed mostly under cover until...about now?

I've always suspected the same thing.

Also, many left-wing techies use multiple computers and/or sign on names.

And like alqaida, they will hide amongst the normal population a long time in order to use their subterfuge to further their cause.

"Cheney is not the problem. The radical left-wing media is. There will be a backlash over these Cheney attacks if they keep it up and they will."

This is the Media and DNC's SOP to damage good conservatives. They make huge controversies and outrageous tinfoil stories about them to the point where people start believing them (see Goebbels), then they label these strong and eloquent conservatives as lightening rods and damaged goods and call for their ouster. It happened with Gingrich, DeLay, Prior, and on and on.

You are completely correct!!!!!

Cheny flushed an Illegal Immigrant out of the grass and poor ol' Harry stood up at the wrong time! By the way, go back to DU, they have the kind of "information" you're looking for over there.

Simply cite here examples of Cheney's "outright falsehoods about national security threats."

All of Cheney's references to a "mushroom shaped cloud" suggesting that Saddam had nuclear WMD, for which suggestion there never was any factual basis. When the U.S. armies invaded Iraq the Iraqi nuclear weapons program was still under U.N. seal, just as the inspectors left it when Bush's invasion forced the U.N. to leave.

The left are having delusional visions of the Nixon Era. Nixon replaced his VP with Ford. So with the lefts delusional thinking...they're pushing for Cheney to step down...'cause again their delusional thinking...after 2006 election they'll have the ability to impeach Bush. They in NO way want to impeach Bush with Cheney still the VP. So this is their delusional misguided strategy.

I can think of only one rational answer to Cheney's question: something else happened and the current story is a cover-up.

Here's what I think:
-- Elvis is dead.
-- Oswald acted alone.
-- There are no aliens at Roswell.
-- It was a hunting accident.

I am impressed that you actually responded as requested, instead of prevaricating, although I see only ONE so-called "falsehood" in your reply, not in the plural, as you stated originally. Nor do I buy what you list above as an "outright falsehood." I don't need Cheney or anyone else to tell me that Saddam would get and use nuclear weapons if he could, and I am not naive enough to think he wasn't trying. He did use chemical weapons against his own people. The U.N. has zero credibilty with me and probably millions of Americans.

You want an example of "outright falsehoods," plural?

"Republicans have cut the budget of (name of sacred cow social program) ..." when in fact Republicans have cut the rate of growth in funding for said program.

"I did not have sex with that woman .... Ever."

"My husband is the victim of a vast right-wing conspiracy."

Republians want to starve old people and poison our children.

I'm sure other FReepers can add to a list of examples of genuine "outright falsehoods" coming from politicians.

Why the vice president of the U.S. should suddenly worry about not being believed is beyond me, especially given his routine and very bold use of distorted information and outright falsehoods about national security threats.

You don't have to play stupid, we already know you are.....

The weirdest comment Cheney made on his Fox lovefest, was when he asked: "Are they going to take my word for what happened?"

Please, please write to your local papers and politicians to find out what really happened! This can be put in the que with finding the real killers of Nicole.

Actually, I heard the VP and Mr. Whittington were possibly huffing gasoline before the hunt. You might want to look in to it.
