Federalist Patriot bashes Abe Linclon

I don't know how many of you get the Federalist Patriot report via email, but it is a great source of conservative news and opinion that all of you should get.

You can find their site at:

http://patriotpost.us/

Anyway, even though I support them, they sent out an email today that bashed Abe Lincoln fiercely. I was so moved to annoyance by their biased and ill thought out email that I had to write them and say how disappointed I was.

You can go to their site and see the anti-Lincoln screed that they put out to know exactly what I am replying to if you desire to do so.

Now, I know some of you freepers are primo confederate apologists so I thought this would stir debate on freerepublic!!

Now, let the fur fly as we KNOW it must...

Even Andy Jackson knew that was NOT true. He was ready to start hanging South Carolinians.

You get some of the best raving lunacy on these threads from the DSs.

Hamilton would have been the first to take up arms against the traitors attacking America. He would not have hesitated in attacking the secessionists. Anyone claiming anything to the contrary simply have no clue about the great Hamilton.

After all he was a founder of the NY Manumission Society and defended slaves whose masters were attempting to drag them back into bondage.

So don't try and drag his good name through the mud.

Even Lincoln acknoweldged the right to secession. He backtracked later in his administration.

That link shows little beyond the incomprehension of the Constitution that the author has. It was NOT a contract between the states but a creation of the American people. This fundamental flaw undermines all argument based upon it.

Hamilton and Lincoln disagreed on the issue. I simply pointed out warring among the states was not something Hamilton advocated.

There is no such thing except in your feverish brain. Lovers of Truth don't worship Lincoln we just love the man for his greatness as we do Washington.

Point out then where it says the States (one and all) had no right to secede.

In fact, point it out in the constitution today.

Chapter and Verse.

It doesn't exist.

That quotation has no applicability to what Hamilton was concerned with. He would have been the first to volunteer for Lincoln's callup if alive and well which could have been problematic at the age of 104.

No man was more for the Union that Hamilton.

It was NOT a contract between the states but a creation of the American people.

So the states are not representative of the people?

No man was more for the Union that Hamilton.

Exactly. And Lincoln subscribed to his centralized political theories. The interesting thing is that Lincoln parts with Hamilton over the issue of raising arms against states in the Union.

Refuted here (at least McPherson's baseless portion of it)

What a laugh. DiLorenzo's trying to prove that tariffs are unconstitutional? What does he suppose the line, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises" in the Constitution means?

he hated & FEARED "persons of colour". his plan was to deport the Blacks to Africa after the war AND to "drive out or exterminate all of the red savages from our dominions".

And what would be the source of that quote, Watie? Is that one of those "secret letters" that only you have been allowed to see?
