DUBAI — The UAE and Palestine have agreed to the establishment of a new joint investment company, to be announced within a few weeks, according to Mazen Sinokrot, the Palestinian Minister of Economy, who has recently visited the UAE.

Speaking exclusively to Khaleej Times, Sinokrot said, "The purpose of establishing such venture is to explore the investment opportunities in Palestine, and to boost the economic ties with the UAE. Further we are planning as well an Initial Public Offering for the company in the UAE."

"We have already started with the first step towards establishing this company by talking to a large number of investors, that are expected to be the seed for the new entity, including Palestinian as well as Emirati investors, and we expect that this company will see the light within the coming few weeks," he added.

Opportunities: Palestine, according to Sinokrot, offers a variety of opportunities for investors, as there are "several strategic mega-projects on the table," he said.

"We seek to benefit from the UAE's expertise in the field of building and developing marine ports, to develop the Gaza port, not only that, we are also in critical need of management expertise," he added while referring to the successes of Dubai Ports World, paving the way for yet a new venture for the world's number three ports operator.

Beginning of aticle...

What do the Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall, and Monticello have in common? The average American with a smattering of historical knowledge might say that those historic sites are all symbolic of America’s unique heritage of freedom.

Monticello, of course, was the home of Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence. That document (as well as the U.S. Constitution, later) was signed in Independence Hall. The Statue of Liberty memorializes the free nation under God that those founding documents created.

What about the Great Smoky Mountains, Yellowstone Park, and the Grand Canyon? Well, these priceless natural resources are all managed by the U.S. National Parks Service. They are among the most frequently visited natural recreation areas in America, where millions of American families vacation every year.

Would it surprise you to learn that every one of these unique American landmarks is also controlled by the United Nations? It’s amazing but true. Every one of the natural and historic treasures listed above – plus more than a dozen more in America – has been designated an official World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which is headquartered in Paris, France.

So, to me, this port thing is just one more step down the road to no soverignty. The rest of the article at the link above.

Dubai buys large shares of Chrysler-Daimler making it third largest share holder. This just gets more unbelievable.

...REading about all the UN Land grabs in the United States is literally enough to make me feel like vomiting, and I'm not exaggerating. If you don't know what I'm talking about, google "UN Biosphere REserves" -- but I'm warning you, get out your favorite antacid before you do. I have been reading about this for literally YEARS and people look at me like I've lost my MIND when I talk about it.

Well I believe ya. And it's gonna be a real shock someday when the rest of the American public sees this when it's too late. I hope I'm wrong and more people start acting out now.

Now, I find it INTERTESTING that the President's nominee to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration of the Department of Transportation, is ALSO Director of Operations for Europe and Latin America at DP World!

Uh Mr. Sanborn has worked for many different shipping companies and is a 1973 graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy.

Below is a symopsis from a shipping trade group.

Hearing Held on David Sanborn Nomination as Maritime Administrator

On Tuesday, February 7, t he Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee conducted a hearing on the nomination of David Sanborn to become the next Administrator of the Maritime Administration.

Mr. Sanborn, a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy, has extensive experience in the industry from both a shore-based port operational perspective and in management positions with then- Sea-Land Service, Inc. and American President Lines. During his confirmation hearing, Mr. Sanborn pledged to call upon these experiences as he approaches the problems and opportunities of the U.S.-flag maritime industry.

Senators Allen (R-VA), Lott (R-MS) Stevens (R-AK) and Inouye (D-HI) stressed the need for the Maritime Administration to assume a proactive leadership role to address the needs of the industry. In his prepared statement, Mr. Sanborn stated that “if I am confirmed I will take this opportunity to play a leadership role in bringing our U.S.-flag fleet back to the preeminence it once enjoyed and to expand upon our domestic cargo carrying capability.”

The Committee will markup the nomination of Mr. Sanborn at a date yet to be announced

Of course you would never consider facts as you rant with your conspiracy theories.

And you, of course, shy away from the fact that Sandborn along with Snow have DIRECT connections (meaning EMPLOYMENT, as in they get PAID BY DP World!) to DP World, and worked for/Managed Companies that were directly bought up by DP World...and also work for the Bush Administartion, and at least ONE of them (Snow) was involved in the CFIUS review of DP World's intention to Control "Operations" of 6 East Coast Ports...while being in the EMPLOY of a Foreign Agent/Company he is charged with REVIEWING!!!

But you would NEVER consider the facts and TRUTH as you try to divert attention to, oh, say Charlie Daniels....

Uh Snow did not have direct conncetions, CSX sold that operation to DPWorld one year after Snow left. he had nothing to do with that.

As for Sanborn he has worked in the shipping industry for many years and for many different companies and has a lot more expertise in the field than you do, Mr. all knowing about the shipping industry.

Are you still peddling that crap?!?

Do you ACTUALLY believe that Multi-Billion dollar deals with Multi-National Companies MAGICALLY occur AFTER certain players are bought by one of the interested parties? That they ONLY take one year?

Just how long does a Billion dollar deal take, Dane?

Because I'd bet that this buyout was proposed, started, researched, and negotiated when Snow was still head of CSX!

Oh, btw...

January 13, 2003, John Snow, CEO of CSX leaves and Bush nominates John Snow to be Secretary of the treasury
December 9, 2004, CSX World Terminals is purchased by DPW

Now check David Sandborn...the pattern is EXACTLY the same!

The nomination of Dave Sanborn to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration of the Department of Transportation is not related to the function of the Federal Maritime Commission, which is to regulate commerical maritime traffic.

I don't know the size or present working capacity of the US Merchant Marine fleet, but I assume it is relativly small potatos in the container business.

Sorry about the "false alarm" regarding Sanborn.

The Maritime Administration is responsible for promoting, developing, and maintaining a U.S. Merchant Marine capable of meeting the nation's shipping needs for both domestic and foreign commerce and the national security. MARAD assists the maritime community in the areas of ship design and construction, development of advanced transportation systems and promotion of the use of U.S. flag vessels.

In administering provisions of the Merchant Marine Act of 1970, MARAD actively engages in such key maritime areas as financial assistance, operations, commercial development, and manpower development. MARAD also operates the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. In addition, MARAD maintains a National Defense Reserve Fleet of merchant ships in three anchorages in the U.S.: James River, Virginia; Beaumont, Texas; Suisun Bay, California; and at various outport locations throughout the continental United States.

MARAD also functions as the National Shipping Authority (NSA) of the United States, the emergency shipping operations agency tasked to acquire and manage merchant shipping for government service in time of war or in defense-related emergencies. In peacetime, MARAD provides ship inventory and characteristics information as well as estimates of ship forecasts for use in DOD planning. In turn, the Department of Defense provides MARAD with information on defense shipping requirements. In a contingency, the Department of Defense advises MARAD of time-phased requirements for ships by type. MARAD provides the Department of Defense with the required ships by activation of reserve vessels and through various government programs, including the Voluntary Tanker Agreement (VTA) and requisitioning. In a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) crisis, MARAD would be responsible for obtaining the NATO ships committed under the NATO Reinforcement Shipping Agreement.

The Maritime Administration was established by Reorganization Plan No. 21, effective 24 May 1950, as one of the successor agencies to the US Maritime Commission. It administers financial programs to develop, promote, and operate the US Merchant Marine; determines services and routes necessary to develop and maintain American foreign commerce and requirements of ships necessary to provide adequate service on such routes; conducts research and development activities in the maritime field; regulates the transfer of US documented vessels to foreign registries; maintains equipment, shipyard facilities, and reserve fleets of Government-owned ships essential for national defense; operates the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY; and administers a Grant-In-Aid Program for State operated maritime academies in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Texas.

Compare that with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) ...

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) is an independent regulatory agency responsible for the regulation of oceanborne transportation in the foreign commerce of the U.S. The principal statutes or statutory provisions administered by the Commission are: the Shipping Act of 1984, the Foreign Shipping Practices Act of 1988, section 19 of the Merchant Marine Act, 1920, and Public Law 89-777.

UAE company is buying up the gaza strip homes and doing new construction:

At first, the UAE government was raising cane (because the citizens were outraged) about the visit of this weathly investor with Sharon & Perez, then a couple of days later
Emaar Palestine is being directed to set up under the Crown prince of Dubai & UAE Defence Minister.

UAE has their hands into everything...
