This is exactly what the K-Street Project was all about. Lobbyists have been overrepresenting the Democrats and filling the lobbying ranks for years. K-Street is intended to infiltrate these lobbyist fims with more Republicans.

I had never heard about Adlai Stevenson being involved in an accidental shooting till your post.  I did a quick search and found a bit more info from that Amazon page for a biography of Stevenson:

The author speculates that the accidental shooting death of a friend when Stevenson was 12 accounts, at least in part, for his compulsive self-deprecation and feeling of unworthiness, as well as his calm acceptance of his divorce and the two overwhelming campaign losses to Eisenhower.

So Chrissy was speculating that this accident might somehow cause the VP to change his evil ways?

What I found interesting today..on all of th shows...was when Sec. Chertoff was asked about the Dubai deal, he was VERY closed mouthed and reinterated over and over how it was classified..and he couldn't talk about it...

Seems I heard last week that there is something in the agreement that cannot be talked about or negotiated or the purchasing company walks. Not sure - but even Err Amerika has a lib on last week that said what's all the fuss about, it is only a purchase of a company. The people running and working at the docks are still going to be American citizens - Muslim Arabs are not going to come in and do the work. I don't like the sound of it, but think folks need to study it if there is enough public facts available?

I noticed Seattle Conservative posted links to 4 articles about the subjet a few posts ago...I haven't had a chance to read them...or I would get way to far behind on the thread..

I bet they might give more information...however, if, like Chertoff says, this is so highly classified...I doubt that we will learn anything specific to allay our doubts.

But, perhaps just knowing the process that has led to the point we do know about might help.

I noticed a thread last night about a company in Florida that is suing to stop this transaction...which MAY be the best way for this to go..through the courts.

I think he virtually does I always seem to have photos of him addressing the press whenever I post the dose.

It might be worth checking out Pentagon TV on the net as they usually stream these events live.

He really should(go to Iraq)it would do a lot for his credibility.

I like Sean Hannity to make clear where I'm coming from. He does good things for our military and he is good for conservatism in general. It would be such an obvious thing for him to go to Iraq or Afganistan that I have wondered why he has not done so and it has crossed my mind that, as a married man with children, his wife just may have some say in this matter. He could never say that because it would be spun as him hiding behind her skirts. Just a thought.

I agree...

as a mother.. it would be totally irresponsible of me to take such a HUGE risk when it is UNNECESSARY!

we are all called for different roles....his role is NOT to risk leaving his family without him just for ratings....he can support the troops, and does it well, from here.....

just MHO anyway...

I gave a soldier $20 for lunch the other day and she said this was the FIRST time this has ever happened for her! Come on Freepers we need to start a Buy a Soldier Lunch program. Just give any soldier wearing our uniform $10-20 and tell them you appreciate what they are doing and want to buy them lunch. You won't believe the response.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

Kofi Annan, in true milquetoast diplospeak, is telling Wolf Blitzer that it's always possible Iran is NOT in violation of its IAEA obligations. He'll wait to see what the IAEA reports. If it's not clear cut, then "we'll have to hope their public pronounciations are just rhetoric".

God help us. The fix is in for al Barradei to issue a report saying he can't arrive at a conclusion (never mind that it's because Iran threw out his inspectors!)

Thankfully the VP has a close and loving family who I am sure will support him and whilst obviously at present he may feel a bit unsure of himself I am certain that Friday was the start of the normal Dick Cheney re-appearing

You have to remember. Conservatives donate their money to worthy causes. Likewise, liberals pride themselves in also taking conservative money so they too can donate to worthy causes.

I'm watching a report on FNC about a group of women pulling together to help clean up New Orleans for Mardi grau

Community team work to get something done instead of relying on the Government .. Wow, what a concept ..

FNC showing Harry Reid saying this administration is the most secretive administration ever. How I wish that Chris Wallace would follow up with how Harry Reid let 3 days go by before informing anyone that he'd had a minor stroke.

Morning, Peach. For once, I get to post in the morning, on my way out of town. I'm FReeping while rooting on the USA hockey team against Sweden. We win or tie, we move on.

The other issue about these duplicitous senators (like Dingy Harry, like She Who Must Not Be Named, like Box of Rox, like Upchuck Schumer) is that these people are responsible (or at least have a vote) for making the laws of this country, and who get to decide who does and does not serve as judges and members of the President's cabinet.

Given this, you have someone like S.W.M.N.B.N., where those Rose Law firm records just mysteriously reappear (after the statute of limitations on them expires), you have Dingy Harry, the Senate Minority Leader who boasts of killing the Patriot Act, having a stroke and not informing anyone for three days...

You have a Senator who runs for president, campaigning as a war hero of a war he hated (and from which he received four deferments before being denied a fifth), then came home and undermined the war, and then met with our communist enemy while a member of the military, and then bashes the President about not providing what the troops need, yet "voted for the $87 billion, before (he) voted against it";

You have Ted (hiccup) Kennedy driving off of a bridge with a woman in his car (not his wife), doesn't inform the authorities until the next morning, leaving the woman to SUFFOCATE (not drown), you have Jay Leakyfeller tipping off foreign countries that our President has already made up his mind about going to war against it - months before it happened...

I could go on, but I must finish packing! Blessings to you!

I suspect Rush will have the tape of Alan Simpson at the top of his show or soon therafter.

If he wasn't going to before he will now.  You know that he, if no one else (besides Tony Snow), has oompa loompas interns people who monitor FR for pointers to stuff because he mentions getting stuff from here.
