The proof has been right in front of you the entire time. Documents available on the internet, which pass the smell test and are probably genuine, show the link between Saddam and al Qaeda.
On October 11th, 2004 an online news service called CNSnews published 42 documents that they claimed came from the Iraq Survey Group. The documents supposedly came from an ISG official who claimed they were captured in Iraq. CNSnews provided this information along with testimony from experts who authenticated the documents to the best of their ability. The story can be found here.
I have no connection to CNSnews. I did not release these documents to anybody while working with ISG or at any other time. But I will now add my name to the list of those who authenticate the documents. I know there is a good chance that these documents are real for three reasons.
The first reason is that I saw thousands of these documents while with ISG, and these look right.
But more than that, I saw the original of one of these documents at the Combined Media Processing Center in Qatar. I can therefore validate one document as having been captured in Iraq which increases the likelihood that they are all real.

Yeah, but Hans Blix never found any WMDs. And Cindy Sheehan and Howard Dean say the war on terror shouldn't include Iraq. Why should we believe these Iraqi documents? < off DNC mode>

Your so-called "documents" matter not a whit. Saddam was Secular and Al Qaeda are Religious, therefore they cannot cooperate or mix on anything whatsoever. So sayeth the Holy CIA.

Saddam was a total proven WMD and Terrorist threat.
1. He used WMD on his own people.
2. He was funding terror by paying homicide bombers families 25,000 dollars each.
And the biggest reason he was a threat:
3. Twice now he has INSISTED ON WAR against us rather than to back down and reach a deal with us.
I mean hello...?, the man insisted on 2 WARS against America! What fool can still insist he was no threat???
This whole Iraq issue has gotten extremely stupid. Absurd.

That's absolutely correct. OBL only makes truce deals with the Crusaders whom he swore HOLY WAR (Jihad) against, but do a deal with Saddam? No Way!

Good post, BF--and, if you followed the news items during the time we went into Iraq and just after, you probably noticed a LOT of items that no one wants to pay any attention to. A fleet of fairly new warplanes buried in the sand, an underground nuclear facility, items buried around Baghdad that, if put together, would have been used to make nuclear products. Then there were barrels and barrels of chemicals that, if combined, would have been a couple of kinds of nerve gas. And of course there were the hundreds upon hundreds of chemsuits and atropine injectors found in several places.
No WMD? For the life of me, I don't know why our administration lets the media and the left get away with saying that. We found a lot. A lot more was truckes over the Syrian border.

This article misses the point. The real terrorists are Bush and Cheney. There is no terrorist threat from al Qaeda. Heck, Muslim bombs go off every day - so what else is new?
