Man, it seems like I'm taking a beating for posting this. I posted this so people could see the daily flood of illegals crossing the border near my home in Yuma. I have no sympathy for these guys at all. They cross illegaly, they take the risk of croaking in the desert, or getting robbed. Personaly I think it's a waste of time and resources for the Yuma County Sherrifs Office to be investigating a robbery that took place feet from the border on people who have no bussines being here in the first place.
Not from me you're not. I was just being sarcastic but it wasn't directed towards you, but at the article. Any sympathy I might have had for illegals is long gone.

I'm not as close to the border as you are (I'm in L.A.) You have my sympathies when it comes to dealing with illegal aliens.
It isn't you, personally. Just that, if you're the one to post the thread, you'll typically be the one to get the most replies, so you'll see most everyone's take on the story you posted. Posters are replying to the story, but they're posting the reply to you, so it can feel alot like they're crashing on you when they're really not. As long as posting the thread isn't the ONLY place on FR where your screen name appears, you'll be fine.
ZOT happens, but usually only to "drive-by" posters and obvious purveyors of vapid leftspeak.
Rock on.
I don't think you're "taking a beating..."
People are noticably sarcastic because of the high degree of both frustration and obviousness in the issues here. Thus, there's more venting and irony on the thread than anything else, but it's not directed toward YOU, just the issues...
Thank you for posting this, I am sorry you feel you are taking a beating for it. I think most are posting to the article and not so much personally to you.
You are right in posting this type of article, articles like this bring attention to the many problems on the border, which is the only way people will become concerned enough to work towards a solution. For too long those of us on the border have understood the issues, but because of lack of reporting, those away from the border did not know the truth or understand how it impacts them.
The article you posted also highlights how other criminal activity is related to illegal crossing. I have little doubt if an American wandered near those bandits waiting to rob the illegals, they very well could become victims of the criminals who are there to prey on the illegals. Most criminals of this type are not too selective when a good target appears.
Hang in there, word is getting out, and understanding of the issues is spreading. That is progress in the right direction. Keep the faith, and keep posting articles that bring attention to the border problems.
Don't sweat it. The comments are not directed at you personally; they are directed at the article.
